Tom Collen will not be returning to Colorado State. Colorado State issued the following release late Friday afternoon.
Fort Collins, Colo./May 3, 2002 - Colorado State University Director of Athletics Jeffrey Hathaway Friday afternoon released a statement regarding former women's basketball coach Tom Collen:
"The entire department of athletics appreciates Tom's hard work and dedication. However, we believe it is in the best interest of the student-athletes, the future of our program, and all parties involved to continue to seek a new head women's basketball coach.
"I want to express my gratitude, that of the department, and by extension, the entire university to Tom and wife Nicki for their role in building our successful women's basketball program. We wish them the very best in all of their future endeavors."
