Kansas State too Cheap for Vaida?

Vaida Zagurskyte, a top JUCO recruit chose UT El Paso over Kansas State and has reportedly been quoted as saying:

"The money is better at UTEP. If the money had been better at K-State, I would have probably chosen K-State"

Was Maria Villarroel, the one sought after by OU and Baylor, a teammate of Vaida's? I still can't believe Vaida said that. Surely she got her English mixed up and really didn't mean it the way it sounds.

Update: Not teammates, Vaida played for the NJCAA Champs Seward Co CC, Maria played at NE Oklahoma. They were opponents in the championship game.

The JC's have some talent. Seems there is a pipeline from Europe to plains JC's. Does anyone know about Marta Dydek from Seward Co? Talent? Still available?

All I know is that Marta is the younger sister of Margo Dydek, who plays for the Utah Starzz.......I think I've heard that there are 3 sisters and Marta is the better of the 3....

Money?.....what does that mean? I believe Baylor's tuition is higher than OU's tuition if that's what the money part means....
though I'd have a hard time believing that tuition is more at Texas-El Paso than it is at Kansas State.
