Great defensive win! Not too shabby on offense either. Every player saw action and scored and rebounded -- almost everyone had assists too. No one played more than 26 minutes...Casey was in the game the longest as she went off on s.miss going 7-8 from the field with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assists, 1 block and no turnovers. Great outing! I really hope to see more of these numbers from her. The others in double-figures were Amber with 16 pts and Jia with 14 pts. Freshman Cisti almost had another double-double with 9 points, 11 boards, and 3 blocks in 22 minutes of action. Natalie had an off-shooting night...she managed to score 9 points, but was only 3-12 from the field.
Tech shot 49% from the field and 79% from the charity stripe while holding s.miss to 19% from the field. Tech had 8 turnovers while s.miss had 21.
I think the team chemistry has gotten much better already and I hope we play well enough in the next few weeks to pull out some big wins over some talented teams (Rutgers and Vandy). Granted s.miss or rice didn't really push Tech, it seems Tech has played much better in their last two outings. Sharp went 12 players deep against both teams and really did not experience any drop off on offense or defense. I hope they continue to move forward and get better.

Nice wins today for Baylor (92-59 over ucla) and OU (91-69 over illinois) as well! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
