Preseason WNIT teams announced

The 16-team field for the 2007 Preseason WNIT:

East Tennessee State
Evansville
IUPUI
LSU
Marshall
Maryland
Miami (OH)
Michigan State
Notre Dame
Princeton
Radford
Samford
TCU
Western Kentucky

The Preseason WNIT takes on a new format this year, with a three game guarantee for all teams. The eight first round losers will play two mini-tournaments with four teams each at two hosting team sites. The second round losers will play one game each, hosted at two sites from among those schools.

Only the championship game participants will play four games. The pairings will be determined at a later date.

So to balance things out, should we expect the 2008 pre-season WNIT will feature all teams from west of the Mississippi, with one token eastern team .............. yeah right.
