See the link below. I said before Coale is an Oklahoma kind of gal; this proves it. Also, Sherri makes note of the facilities she has at OU and the athletic department support. I don't think many people outside of the fox sports net coverage realize the tremendous facilities the OU women have, which is equal to the men's.

I'm a happy camper, but not a surprised one, by Sherri's committment to Oklahoma. As she notes in the article, you can't box yourself in by not ever considering another job, but she is our coach. And probably for a long time. I think it also falls in line with all the other veteran coaches of the Big 12 who have chosen to stay here. This is a special conference with special coaches.

Someone mentioned to me that at a point in the season when ESPN was in town, they said it was the best facility they had seen.

I knew Coale had a clause of a $50,000 bonus for winning a NC, I'm glad OU also has it in place for being in the Final Four.
I think all OU coaches now have the same clause, though I thought you had to win the NC to get it.

As the coaches and we fans have been saying all along......
the Big XII is the best women's basketball conference in the nation, and coaches seem to be telling the nation....
"this is the BEST conference, why would I move?"

Though I can see Deb Patterson's reasoning for moving to Vanderbilt being as she was an assistant coach there, but with the great team she has and support all the way to the governor of Kansas.....can't see her leaving either.

Deb Patterson would be nuts to go to Vandy right now. She has the youngest most talented team in the nation in inarguably the best conference, with the KSU fans going absolutely nuts over what is happening there.

How can Vandy match that?

Besides, the backbiting in the SEC is brutal - while the coaches and players may respect each other, the schools just want to bury each other and every move keeps that in mind; don't forget all the recent probations in their conference are largely due to (besides dishonesty and stupidity) other schools jumping in line to put the other programs down.

It just isn't like that in the Big 12, thankfully. At least we are smart enough (maybe the influence of past experience in the SWC is a factor?) to understand that to undermine your other member schools is to undermine your own.

Wow, I love this conference. We are so lucky to be living in the epicenter of women's college hoops!
