The Waco Tribune-Herald reported today that Coach Kim met with Tom Stanton, AD and that they had a very good meeting. She and her husband are happy in Waco and plan on staying awhile. She apparently was approached about other coaching positions. I am glad she will remain at Baylor.

The paper also reported that Lauren Selmon has requested that the university release her from her scholarship. She wants more playing time and feels she can get it somewhere else. Tulsa was one of the schools mentioned.

wow, zo......interesting info on Selmon. I've always thought she was the better of the 3 Selmon girls; I'm really surprised that she's transfering after only one season.

I believe the middle Selmon girl has thus far had a successful season at Trinity in San Antonio (Div III I think, no scholly's). I think she'll be a Jr or Sr next year.

Just an FYI regarding Megan Selmon. Wonder if Lauren would have any desire to go play w/ her sister? I don't think she'd have to sit out if she went DIII, but I'm not sure.
Megan was alos the SCAC player of the year.

San Antonio - Trinity junior post Megan Selmon, of Norman Oklahoma, has received post-season honors for her play in the 2001-2002 season.

Selmon was named a First Team All-South Region player by d3hoops.com, one of only five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference players to receive All-Region honors, and one of only two SCAC players to receive First Team honors.

Selmon was named a finalist for the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association and the Eastman Kodak Company's 2002 D-III Kodak Women's All-America Basketball Team. Selmon was the
only SCAC team member to receive this honor - a first for Trinity.

This season, Selmon scored 381 points (15.2/game) and grabbed 184 rebounds (7.4/game) in the 2001-02 season.

In her three seasons at Trinity, Selmon has already made an impact in both the school and conference record books. She currently stands 22nd in SCAC history and fourth in Trinity history in scoring. Selmon is also the SCAC and Trinity all-time leader in field goal percentage.

Selmon has been a key member of the team each of her three years, and averages 14.3 points per game (1,073 total) and 7.2 rebounds per game (541 total) for her career. She also shoots .593
(435-733) from the field for her career.

More and more each day, I agree with those who say that 15 scholarships is too many. Give 13 scholarships and have a walk-on or 2 if you want.

I hate to see her leave BU, cause she seems like a first class kid all the way, but I have thought for a while that she would never see much court time. She has a good outside shot, but unfortunately seems to me to be too slow to play the 3 at the Big 12 level. As the women's game gets more athletic every year, speed and mobility is all the more a big factor.
Here's hoping she finds the right school and has a great career!!
