There's talk that this girl is leaving Notre Dame and coming to play for KMR. She won Defensive Player of the Year for Notre Dame at their banquet and has started 23 of 26 games this past season........she will have to sit a year, though and only have a remaining year of elgibility.

I just don't understand why you would transfer with one year left, plus have to sit out a year. I guess maybe if you're unhappy you'll do anything. It even seems weird for schools to consider a transfer with only one year. You end up giving two years for one year on the team.

For a marginal contributor like Barksdale, I wonder if she feels cheated by her college career so far. Certainly her overall statistics have been unimpressive, although there isn't any doubt that she made some progress this year.

She looks to be primarily a backup post player, possibly good for 10-15 minutes a game. I hope that she finds what she is looking for, because it's obvious she hasn't found it yet.

She IS a good rebounder and very fine shot blocker, however.

Have to wonder if the WNBA is not affecting some of these transfers.....meaning these young women are positioning themselves to upgrade their status....then you have someone in OU's Schuknecht's position (that is the proper spelling).....that was affected by her "husband's" transfer.
I don't know....they say that this year and next year's WNBA drafts are "not great in depth".....but the class of sophomores this year is incredible and this is the group she has jumped into. Though I will say, she is from Texas.....and that seems to be playing a part into a lot of transfers.

hmmmmm, wonder if we will start seeing a change in recruiting?
and recruits will start looking at schools where they will have playing time rather than riding pine and being role players?
Kind of like what Dales did by coming to Oklahoma when she did.

Baylor has a real gem in Blackmon, but I'm not familiar with their other post players......

Not absolutely positive she's heading to Baylor....but she is heading back to Texas.

Hopefully that's the case and we start seeing some of the blue chip recruits start spreading themselves out and going to some other schools that really need them and can build a team around them. If they all continue to go the Tenn, UConn and Duke, they will always have playing time issues unless you are top notch and make the top 7 or 8.
