Best FACILITY is Tennessee?!!!! Better than United Spirit Arena? Better than FEC or Lloyd Noble with adjacent practice facilities? I find this hard to believe....

It would be interesting to know the criteria for Best Facility.
Nothing against Western Kentucky's mascot, but what's so special about it?

Nothing against Western Kentucky's mascot, but what's so special about it?Don't know - but IMO - it wouldn't take much to top any of the B12 mascots I've seen - and I think I've seen them all. I think we should demand at least some YTUBE video of WKy's to see what a good mascot does to be considered special :)
The WBCA openly admits this is a popularity contest among the coaches, rather than a juried set of awards. I wouldn't worry about Tennessee getting a bunch of awards, that's just the way it's going to be for now.
Oh, and I bet any school would be hard pressed to better the overall superlatives of the remodeled GIA. That's one impressive arena!

Sherri is probably the best dressed coach in the country, but I,too, would put any Big 12 mascot up against Big Red--especially our Chip.

Oh, and I bet any school would be hard pressed to better the overall superlatives of the remodeled GIA. That's one impressive arena!Amazing how different folks have such different opinions. I HATE GIA! I've learned that when I go to get there EARLY so I can sit below the vertical wall of seats. Walking down to a seat in that eyrie is particularly hard for me. I'm amazed that they don't have at least one broken spectator neck per season. And the concession areas? I've never seen another arena where they are less convenient. But the lobby/escalator area is very nice.

Facilities are more than just the arena games are played in. It also involves practice facilities, treatment facilities (for treating minor medical ailments and massaging players), A/V rooms for reviewing tapes, etc, weight training facilities and I would also hope the academic support facility.
When OU completed the practice facility adjunct to LNC a few years ago (complete with all of the above except the weight training and academic, because they are located in a different area), Fox did a preview of those on one of OU's games and said they were second to none.
I understand TN has great facilities as well, but there practice facility, et al, is not close to the arena. Not that it should make that big of a difference unless players have to drive there instead of walk or take university transportation.
I don't know if they included academic support facilities but I know prestigious schools like Duke have come to OU to try and model their facilities and support system.

Wasn't Big Red the mascot that failed its attempt to jump the pit of rattlesnakes in the CapitalOne Mascot Challenge Commercial and was taken away on an ambulance stretcher? LOL I say it was the sympathy vote that got it the award.:p
Sherri getting the Best Dressed Coach......Notice the photos at the bottom of swok's post. Holly and Sherri are wearing virtually the same outfit. Hmm? I guess it's how you wear it? I say it's b/c she didn't pull that pink skirt out of the closet this past year; or it could've been that sophisticated black Donna Karan suit accentuated with those pink low cut easy comfort Converse tennies.:D

Since Sherri won this award, I expect an article in the DOK entitled, "Where Does Sherri Buy Her Clothes?"
