Was it as close as the score indicates? I know that some of these scores can be a little confusing as sometimes the subs are put in with 10 min. left. Against Oregon State, Tech was up by as much as 21 I think and then OSU just went on three point shootout against the subs.

It was pretty much as the score indicated. ISU went up by 18 at the half but Eastern Kentucky came back in the second half. I don't think it got below an 8 point lead in the second half, but it was not close because the reserves were in or anything. ISU has had some trouble maintaining large leads this season, which is cause for some concern.

ISU was playing it's third game in four days, and I think that played a big part in the game against Eastern Kentucky. Bill said it himself on the post-game show that he knew in the second half the girls were simply running out of gas. But he was confident that this would help them in the long run for the conference and NCAA tourneys.

On my annual rant about the officiating overall in the NCAA - IT'S PITIFUL! Greg Small is one of the biggest waste-of-spaces that has ever put on an officials uniform. It seems he has no idea of what a foul is and I honestly don't think I've ever seen him call a good game. It's a sad sign when Jan Herke, another one of the lacking officials, is the voice of reason during a game! There has got to be some accountability in this league for poor officiating, but the Big XII seems very unconcerned with it. Sorry about the rant, but I just had to get it off my chest. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/mad.gif

In other Cyclone news, it appears as though ISU will be setting up a home-and-home series with Washington. The first game would be at Seattle next year and would allow Lindsey Wilson to play in her hometown. The Huskies would return the trip to Hilton the following season. Also, the NIT has made inquiries to ISU about playing in the 2002-03 preseason tourney.

Finally, there is a slight chance that the Cyclones will get Erica Junod back this season. It wouldn't be until the conference tourney or NCAA's, but Coach Fennelly has said that her progress is going very well and that they would see how she is doing come March. Crossing my fingers on that one. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
