Minnesota is combining the two athletic departments into one, and both athletic directors are out.

Does any BIG XII school have a separate department or an assistant AD for women's sports? If I recall correctly, EIU had their women's sports under separate management and it didn't work there either. Re-Organization at the top isn't the only issue the Minn WBB coach applicants will confront. The players want a role in selecting the next coach.

As far as I know, no Big 12 school has separate departments; that's a real anachronism. However, I would think that most schools have an Associate AD for Women's Sports. Marita Hynes at Oklahoma, and I believe that's the job Jody Conradt resigned from at Texas to give more attention to basketball.

Looking through the NCAA program, all programs have someone called "Senior Woman Administrator".......
I believe Marita is also involved in some of the men's sports, track for sure....maybe golf (not sure about that one).
In the OU program she's listed as Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman's Administrator.
btw........welcome to the board, soonerman...can't have enough Sooner fans here http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I thought that Jody Conradt was Director of Women's Athletics at Texas. Or was she AD for the university?
Somebody set me straight on this!

My understanding is that she resigned whichever position it was before this year in order to devote all her energy to coaching basketball.

I think you are right, sw, Marita is involved in men's minor sports as well. She was in the photo, along with Joe C., of the men's national championship gymnastics team.
