Bales, a Jr. from Ohio, was just named 3rd team Parade All-American.
The 6-foot-6 junior averaged 17.2 points, 10 rebounds, 5.4 blocked shots and and 3.5 assists per game for the Beavers. She shot 63.6 percent from the field and 77.8 percent from the foul line. The Beavercreek girls won the 2001 state title and advanced to the Division I regional tournament this past season.
Bales said Sunday that she has 11 favorites among the 20-25 universities she's still considering. They include Connecticut, Duke, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Christian University and Vanderbilt.
"I've talked to the coaches and I guess I want a program with good academics as well as winning games," Bales said. "When I graduate I want people to know what school it is."
