sigh...we're getting Cal and ND - why can't we see Ole Miss and TCU which appears to be an excellent game or why can't they switch us around to see other games.

We got stuck watching GA Tech and DePaul last night with no cuts to other games.

Ack! Every time I see Cal's coach, Joanne Boyle, I think she's Ann Coulter.

I quit watching ND-Cal, but I'm stuck with that till the end. I'll keep checking in hopes it gets close.

I'm more interested in the next batch of games. I really hope I get Bowling Green-Oklahoma State. If I get the 1-16 or 2-15, I'm going to be ticked.

If you have ESPNU, you can watch TCU/Mississippi.

Ole Miss leads 50-41 with 16:47 to play

ND-Cal is at least fairly close now. I'm afraid I'll get stuck with the 1-16 next too - the BG-OSU game seems like it would be a good match-up and I hope I get that one.

Last night I got stuck with the LSU blowout for almost the whole first half - I wasn't happy about that.

Well, Ole Miss is plowing through TCU. They lead 65-46 with 12 minutes left.

The Vandy game is close as well.

The ND/Cal game turned out to be a barn burner, with ND pulling it out at the end.

Vandy/Delaware St was also close for most of the game, but Vandy finally managed to pull away at the end. The game announcers were talking about what a great band Delaware St has.

Speaking of the games . . .

Wonder why ESPN has Doris in the studio this year? Seems to me that three is a definite crowd and she's the odd person out. Just can't even begin to compare with Stacey and Kara.

I noticed yesterday that it was only Stacey and Doris for some of the earlier games, then Kara joined them later. I had wondered if she worked a game yesterday afternoon and perhaps didn't get to join the studio crew until later. But then today they have all 3 on again.

OTOH, maybe Kara had flight delays in being able to get to Conn yesterday due to the weather. If so, I understand why they perhaps thought that adding someone else to go along with Stacey might be good. My preference, though, would have been to let Stacey go solo.

Whatever, I'm not in favor of Doris moving in on the studio crew.

Are you sure you want to see this? You'd have to listen to SWMNBN, who is working the game.

NC State moves on!

I wondered about Doris Burke too - actually I wish they'd put Kara out doing color, she does a great job and would keep some of these pbp guy's honest.

Good for Ole Miss - I'm a fan of Carol Ross and Mintie price.

I do like Adriianne Ross for TCU - but she's got another year.

Please ESPN show us Baylor or OSU in the next game.

BearLady - I was just thinking the same thing as we are now getting Ole Miss and TCU - but I can always turn down the sound!

Actually why do they need Trey Wingo??? I think Kara or Stacy or Doris could handle his duties.

When they went back to the studio yesterday right after the Marquette-ULL game, he seemed caught off guard and made the comment 'Congratulations to them as they move on.' My friend and I wondered if he even knew who the 'they' was he was referring to there...

I like Robin Roberts right where she is, so I can see her everyday with my coffee. I think Kara Lawson is doing some NBA Sacto games. She was here in Oklahoma City a couple of months ago doing a Hornets/Sacto game.

I don't know what she was doing yesterday, but someone did tell me about her NBA color job.

Wonder why they think they need so many for the studio?

I really like what Doris Burke brings to the table. She has a different perspective and I usually find myself saying "I didn't even think about that" after her comments. I know Stacey Dales is a Big XII alum, but she states the obvious. I thought that was Trey Wingo's job. And someone please teach her how to say More-Ren-A-Key Ah-Tune-Rah-Shay!!!!

Any ideas about what ESPN meant by saying (on screen) about Harvard, "12-game NCAA Tournament win streak snapped"?

Lobos and Phoenix about to tip off!!!!

GO LOBOS!!!

Oh good grief. I'm getting Tenn-Drake. They better not stay with this game too long. No offense to Drake, but a 1-16 does not even remotely interest me.

Edit: At least I am getting Michigan State-Delaware now. The New Mexico-UWGB game interests me, but I'll take it.

Lobos look pretty shaky off the bat - got the radio on and the tv and SW on mute. E-Nunu with 2 fouls already

18-18 6:43

Lobos can't get into the paint, UWGB very pesky, lots of fouls being called (or so it feels like) on both teams.

This may have been mentioned elsewhere, but I didn't see it if it was. NCAA Sports does a pretty good job of updating game results on the fly. When something occurs, a rectangular box appears inside the game box with the latest play description.
http://www.ncaasports.com/basketball/womens/scoreboard
This works really well. TRY IT!

You can also open the individual games in another window or tab and get more complete results.
For example, http://www.ncaasports.com/basketball/womens/gamecenter/live/NCAAW_20070318_DE@MIST
This doesn't update as well as it should and is usually several plays behind the first link.

After leading at the half by 3 (wouldn't know it according to the various ESPN announcers) UNM has come out cold again.

37-33 UWGB

48-14 Tenn over Drake
Drake hasn't scored in the 2nd half, Tenn has 20 pts

Now UWGB has extended the lead to 10 44-34 :(

Marsh is a non-factor, someone needs to make her mad, nobody is rebounding

Dale8R
03-18-2007, 07:31 PM
I knew it wasn't going to be good, but it is worse than I imagined it would be. Tennessee has not called off the dogs yet. After a 30-14 half, it is now 22-0 to start the second half in Tennessee-Drake. Some people just have no heart, but I guess you pretty much have to be that way to stay on top of the heap.

Drake just scored their first points of the second half at the 10:30 mark, a couple of Monique Jones freethrows. NO point in updating further.

Drake now has 15 pts in the 2nd half while Tenn only has 41

UNM continues to shoot very poorly (6-23 in 2nd half), Lobos missing really important free throws

making unforced turnovers - out of sync :(

Where IS the team that won the MWC tourney? This is the team that lost to Utah and BYU in the Pit.

Props to UWGB - speedy, decent shooting, good execution - good luck against UConn!

Michigan State won, but Delaware hung around.

They jsut cut to the Holy Cross game and a girl for them just got 1000 points in her career.

Poor Lobos :(

Both Mich. St. and Delaware were playing some great basketball. It's too bad that Delaware couldn't rebound.

Wish I could see Nebraska.

I'll content myself by booing Fran Fraschilla, who is announcing the James Madison / Pitt game.

(Hey Fran, I hear there's a coaching position opening in New Mexico...)

Fran was a disaster as a coach, but I've enjoyed his commentary so far - he calls the game, doesn't chit chat, etc.

Agreed. He did a lot of Big 12 men's game for ESPN and he was OK there. I was a little surprised to find him doing the women's tournament since I hadn't heard him do a women's game before.
