Anyone notice Welle's fantastic field goal percentage? Currently sitting at 69.8% And you may say, well, she's a post player, it ought to be high. Well, noone from the Big 12 is even close to her here. The next closest is Kristen Rethman at 62.2% And Mary Fox is the only other player at 60 percent or above.

Welle also has a very commanding lead in the Hoopla! Points department with 27.3 per game. She's 6.2 points ahead of the pack. Kendra Wecker is currently second with 21.1 per game. Welle's fantastic field goal percentage is good for about 3 points of that 6.2 point lead. The other reason for Welle's big lead is her rebounding. She's first in conference in rebounding average per game with 11.3.

If I'm not mistaken, she's one of the few Big XII players that even shows up on a national scale, in ANY category....

swok34: Check out my list of Big XII players with national stats at or near the top of the charts. We have quite a few players and team stats we can crow about. The list includes Laurie Koehn #1 in three pointers per game. She is also 14th in three point %. Tari Cummings from OSU is #8 nationally in free throw %, 95.03% (23-24). Lindsey Wilson is 8th in assists, 7.33 per game. These are just highlight examples. As a team KSU is #2 in 3 pointers per game (9.44) and #2 in 3 point % (48.85%). KSU is also #3 in shooting % (53.42%) and #8 in scoring offense (84.78). OU is #5 in shooting % (50.59%). The team sandwiched in between KSU and OU? UCONN (51.79%)

OK, so its early and a lot of these stats are going to bounce around. (I'd say TT is going to move up a lot of spots) Still I am happy to see Big 12 players and teams showing up well on the charts. I made a more complete list in reply to the "Statistics" post elsewhere on this board. I think its clear we do have players showing up in the national stats.
