Stacy's parents are in California and can't get the broadcast. Please post updates on the game so they can be kept informed. Also, please let us know how Stacy's doing.

Score at Half-Time - Wisconsin 34, Texas 32.

Listen to the game on the internet at www.texassports.com/ (http://www.texassports.com/)
I can't find any live stats unfortunately.

Texas started slow, turning over the ball, getting out-rebounded, and not shooting well. Then the Longhorns went on a 12-0 run during the last 3 minutes of the half! Freshmen Kala Bowers, Mercedes Williams, and Heather Schreiber were all important in that run. Stacy picked up 2 early fouls and sat during much of the 1st half after scoring 4 points. I think every Longhorn, including Tai Dillard, saw action in the half.

Sorry for the double post.

Texas closed out the win at 75/70 in a game that went to the final seconds. The Longhorns were tough, getting good dribble penetration in the second half to get to the line. Stacy Stephens had a great 2nd half in spite of playing on a taped ankle. The announcers said Stephens was in obvious pain. Kenya Larkin was also key finishing 10 of 10 from the line.

Stacy Stepens finished with, I think, 17 points and 13 boards, a a steal, and an assist. Kenya had 12 points (?), 6 assists, and only 2 turnovers. Schreiber also was in double figures.

Thank you carolann, for your posts! I just called Stacy's folks (they're at their sons football game ...Tarleons State U, Texas vs the Aggies at UCDavis, Davis, CA NCAA DIST 2 playoffs) and passed on the information you've posted. Your brief descriptions of the game were extremely succinct and enjoyably readable. We sure do appreciate your input.

P.S. I'm Stacy's Uncle

Sure hope you're having a great holiday weekend.

Guess I dropped the ball on that one, but Carolann's got my back! I was listening to the game the old-fashioned way - on the radio (does anyone do that anymore? http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif).

Great win for the Longhorns, and a gritty, gutty performance by Stacy, who came up HUGE down the stretch on a gimpy ankle. Also kudos to Kenya, who was a "perfect 10" - 10 for 10 from the free throw line. This was after the youngsters (Mercedes, Kala, and Heather) staged the furious 12-point rally at the end of the first half to cut the 14 point Badger lead to only 2 at the half.

An interesting and encouraging thing in this game was that the Horns did a lot of their damage in the post with both points and rebounds against the taller, stronger Badgers. Well, there aren't many that are stronger than Stacy, but overall I would guess that Wisconsin is a much more physical team. There was also good play on the perimeter, with Alisha getting a couple of key three-pointers in the second half.

13 Longhorns saw action in the game, including the first action of the year for Tai, Coco, and Dana (with Dana getting the start in place of Kaira as Conradt looked to match up with Wisconsin's size inside). A lot of experimentation was going on in the first half.

This was a great confidence-building win for Texas against an upper-tier Big 10 team. We now know that we can rally from first-half deficits. Now let's go out and win from tip to buzzer tomorrow!

We'll be playing USC, who upset 12th-ranked Florida in the second game this afternoon. USC is 2-2, having beaten Florida and Morgan? State and losing to St. Joseph's and Tennessee. Like Wisconsin, they have some size with several 6'2" - 6'4" players listed on the roster.

I fully expect the 'Horns to come home from Paradise with a 1st place trophy!

And the Football team to come home from Dallas with a Big XII Championship!!! What a great weekend to be a Longhorn!!

USC beat Florida? http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/eek.gif I am truly surprised. Oh well, from what I've read, USC is another team who's most well known talent is in a big front line.

If any of Stacy Stephen's family read anymore posts, we Longhorns are very grateful to have Stacy as a Longhorn.

We really appreciate the updates. Just got back from our son's 1/4 final football game in California...unfortunately they lost :-(

Have you heard anything more about Stacy's ankle?

Thanks for all the Longhorn support, we are glad of her choice, too!

From the UT web site ""When I entered the game late in the second half, I wasn't thinking about my ankle sprain at all, which I think will be OK after some icing and rehab tonight," Stephens stated. "
