Looks like #21 Marquette has a big game today vs #20 Louisville this afternoon. One of the only Top 25 matchups I see on the scoreboard. Big East Conference Standings implications will be affected as well.

You don't say :-). I'd say it's easily their biggest game of the season. If Marquette can win out (a possibility but won't be easy), they would finish 3rd in the BE at worst. If RU wins out, they come in 2nd as they have the tiebreaker over MU. Coming in 2nd or 3rd in the BE has great advantages over 4th as you wouldn't have to face UCONN until the BET final.
They have to start a lot better than they've been doing of late and put together 40 minutes of good basketball - a good second half like they had against St. John's on Tuesday probably won't be enough against Louisville. I'm hoping for decent attendance - was disappointed in the SJU game crowd on Tuesday coming off the sellout against UCONN. Of course there was bad lake effect snow down my Marquette that kept many people away on Tuesday. The weather today is cold but no snow or ice. The MU men host Louisville at 8p today and I doubt many people will goto both games but I don't think we have that much crossover between men's and women's fans anyway.
The game is at 2p central/3p eastern and can be viewed for free at Marquette's site if anyone is interested:

Goto the next event or last event sidebar (they move the current game to last event right around tipoff) and click on the watch link. You have to have a CSTV account but that's free to create and I don't think they asked for much information when I signed up for mine.

Marquette 65-54 over Louisville
Iona 59 Fairfield 47
UNI 90 MSU 72 The woes continue for the Lady Bears. It's a good thing that the MVC now takes all the teams into the tournament. Otherwise, they would be in the position of hosting the tournament but not being able to play.

Thanks :-). It was the best game that Marquette has played in a long time and was great to see them pick up this big win. I'm really hoping they can win out (at Seton Hall Tue, vs. South Florida Sat and at St. John's Mon 2/26) b/c that assures them no worse than a 3rd place finish in the Big East. They also had their second largest crowd of the season today and I'm really hoping they get an even bigger crowd for the senior day game vs. USF next Saturday.
Congrats to OU on the win today also...
