Great Job! Keep up the good work!
I was seriously angry with our team from about 5 minutes into the second half till about 8 minutes left.
All is forgiven.

When Duke got it down to 2 I was going oh no. I was never so glad to see a run in my life.
What a tremendous, fantastic team performance! Congratulations to the Sooners. You gotta know if a Texas fan is this excited, you Sooners must be euphoric!
OU made a statement tonight. Respect is being earned (there is certainly none freely given!) This much we know: OU is a better team than Duke and Stacy Dales is a better player than the hyped Alana Beard. Please realize that I am not dissing Beard. Dales is just that much better. The nation got a taste of the Big XII's best tonight.
It has been a long, long time since I have seen such a dominant rebounding performance by a team. Keep it up and go get 'em Sunday!

Both teams appeared nervous in the beginning of the game. I thought once the Sooners got their composure they maintained it. Even when Duke pulled within two points in the second half, I think it was their composure that allowed Oklahoma to just pull away. Very nicely done Sooners.

Way to go OU! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif One more to go. Just give it your all!!
The Big XII is proud of you.
To all the Horn fans on this thread, thank you for your support of a fellow Big XII team.
About 25 years ago I had a terrible experience regarding your fans, which I absolutely refuse to go into here.
I want you to understand that most Sooners don't hate you unequivocably - we just don't understand why we've been treated the way we have.
I have many relatives who live in Austin and its environs, and I thank you for your support for our basketball team.
As arrogant as I might be, I truly believe that we have a legitimate chance to win the whole doggone thing.

Goes to show, you've got to be good to be the BIG XII champion, really good. Also, as I noted on the Cyclone board, with OU, it isn't just that they are good, they are very un-bad, few mistakes which allows them to beat teams which might seem to be better.

Congrats OU for making it this far. Now the Sonners must break the streak.
I'm not talking about Connecticut's win streak, I'm talking about the beat Texas Tech and finish second streak. In 2000, Tech lost to Tennessee in the Elite 8. The Vols made it to the championship game and finished second. In 2001, Tech lost to Purdue (Sweet 16) who made it to the championship game and finished second. For the third straight year, Tech's season was ended by a team that has made it to the championship game.
Break that streak, OU---FINISH FIRST! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Not to be mean or anything, but a whole lot of teams beat tech this year. By your logic/superstition, the UNM lobos had a good shot at it all.
It takes talent to beat Connecticut (understatement of the year).

Thanks to all of our fellow Big 12 brethrens. I finally stopped crying a few hours ago. It was a watershed moment not only for OU women's athletics for all women's athletics. This program was dumped 12 years ago. Now it is playing for a national championship before the largest crowds ever. This is more than about OU. It is a metaphor about how women's bb and athletics have come to fore in the next century. Ain't it great?

Thanks to all you non-OU fans for the kind words.
Once they got into their groove, OU did great. Rosalind Ross was awesome. Actually, the whole team was. Talk about Team ball, that's what they do.
Looking forward to Sunday's game (though just realized I'll have to tape it and watch it later as I'll probably be having dinner at my boyfriend's mother's home. I guess I could hog the TV, maybe make a basketball fan and OU fan out of her.) http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
Alana Beard is good, but Stacy is better. LaNeishea is better at this point. I think the reason Alana gets all the hype is the team she's on. She has to step up, because noone else can/will. On a team like OU (and Uconn), you have 4, 5, or 6 players who can all step up on any given night.
Go Sooners!!
Oh, and I also think it's great to see how the men and women's team support each other so much. I heard them say they called and left a message on Coach Sampson's voice mail, telling him it's the guy's turn now.

I completely agree. Its amazing to think that one of the players who gets no headlines and no attention from anyone steps up and performs like she can on any night.
You cant stop the sooners, you can only hope to contain them! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I was obviously referring to a loss that ended Tech's season in the NCAA tournament. I believe I mentioned the Elite 8, Sweet 16 etc. to end Tech's season. I thought it was an interesting fact. No reason to diss my favorite team just because you didn't think so.

Congratulations Sooners!!!! I haven't yelled for an Oklahoma team quite like that in about 15 years.
That was fun to watch and it was great to see Rosalind Ross breakout again. If nothing else, I'd love to see her be the difference for Oklahoma on Sunday.
A note about the ESPN announcers? The best way to combat them is to just turn the sound down and listen to the radio guys. I had my TV on ESPN and my computer locked in on KOMA.
A quote for Sunday.

Just wanted to add my congratulations and thanks to the Sooners for such a great game Friday. I know it would have made me nervous to have a team like Duke pull back to within 2 points, but I think it just emphasized how poised and gifted those OU kids are. Lots of fun!!!!
I'll be there tonight yelling my lungs out (in the middle of a hoard of UConn fans) for the Sooners. Go get 'em.
