Yeah for Cyclone fans! I think that we felt challenged to prove people wrong, and showed up in much larger numbers than I expected.

I'm still trying to figure out Boise, ID as a host site. That place was practically empty. I think there were some imaginary people included in that 11,000.

From what I've read, Boise always turns out really well for Men's regionals.

My OSU fan friend who lives there was disappointed in the turnout. To bad all those Boise residents didn't realize what they had in their own backyard...

The Idaho Statesmen has some insight on this subject.

I guess they just haven't caught on to what they are missing - yet.

In defense of Boise. They are hard working people out there. There just may not be a whole lot of fans that stay up to watch midnight women's basketball!

The problem with a city like Boise, it is almost impossible for fans to travel to without spending alot of time and money. Boise is a double plane connection from OKC and would probably take 7-10 hours total travel time and without an advance purchase, I would guess tickets in the $400 plus range. Ames is also difficult to travel to, but with ISU hosting they were going to get good attendance even when they lost in the 2nd round because I suspect most of those tickets had been bought already. Raleigh has a lot more people in the surrounding cities to draw from, and I've been surprised ACC fans haven't gone in greater numbers to women's games.
