The day is not far off when more the 40 percent of the 324 women's Division I teams will be involved in post-season play.
A new tournament, the WNIC (the women's National Invitational Championship), plans a 16-team pre-season event starting next season and a 32-team post-season event starting in 2008. It will compete with the WNIT (Women's National Invitational Tournament).
