Since I am one of the few that still frequents the WCH.com website I thought I would post this. Everytime I visited their site throughout the year, on the front page, it always seemed like there was another coach getting fired, resigning, or just leaving the school for no reason. Now, I thought it was a lot, but this is OUTRAGEOUS! There are 37 coaching vacancies in D1 women's basketball!!! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/eek.gif Here's the article from ESPN: http://espn.go.com/ncw/s/coaches/2002.html

I don't personally keep tabs on this, but according to other people, 37 is about average.

Coach Fennelly has said that the number of vacancies this year will end up being well above average.

I'm lazy, so I'll cut-and-paste my post from the Cyclone Illustrated board instead of rewording this...

Fresno State has a WBB head coach opening, and two of the most likely people to take the job are current ISU WBB assistant coach Kelly Kebe and former ISU assistant and current Michigan State associate head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. Fennelly (quoted extensively in the article below) says that Kebe will probably get a head coaching job this spring regardless of whether Fresno State takes her.

A lot of great things are said about ISU in the article.

LA Tech assistant Stacy Johnson is also mentioned in the article as a potential coach. It calls her a finalist for the Ok St. job.
