There is a nice thread about Jody's decision to pull Stephens from the game after the technical on the espn board. I've never posted a link so I hope it works.

The Austin paper reported today that Stephens sent a note of apology to the official after the game. Can't wait to watch her play next year.

Thanks for sharing that. I was swiching around yesterday and hadn't realized that Stacy didn't get back in the game. I saw her leave after the T. I respect coaches for this move and players that learn from it. A couple of years ago one of the ISU men's players got a T after being egged on by a the thrug on the other team (non Big12). Eustachy took him out of the game and he never returned. I don't remember him ever losing his cool after that.
Good move Jody & Stacy!

Thanks, Texan, for the post. I wouldn't have gone to ESPN.com today without a recommendation! Love my Horns, but don't want to live through any rehash of that game again. It was a great season and I am happy to say that a great Sophmore ended the season on a courageous note.
Good work, Jody. Very brave and responsible, Stacy.

Did I miss something? What's brave and/or responsible about getting called for a technical?

horns was referring to her note of apology, not the technical. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks, Mred.
We all make mistakes, but it takes big courage to accept reponsiblity and say I was wrong and I'm sorry.
It's even more impressive when a twenty year old kid is in the national spotlight. I hope these are some of the (tough) lessons team sports teach.

ok, that makes sense. I do agree that Jody made the right decision. I guess I was surprised that Stephens did something like that, it seemed pretty uncharacteristic of her.

Obviously, cyfanatic you do not personally know Stacy! I do and that is VERY characteristic of her. She has high moral standards and a great sense of responsibility when it comes to her being a role model.

My role in this thread is to correct misunderstandings... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
Cowboyr, I think cyfanatic was referring to the technical, not the note of apology.
Thanks mred! Relax people! Outside of OU, the season is over for us!
