Any truth to it? I hope not, so if this is false, please delete this.

Rumor is also flying on the KSU message boards. However, no one has suggested that she is done for the season, so I really don't know anything for certain. I just hope and pray that it is not a serious injury. Marlies is a great player and seems to be an even better kid. She's a big part of this team.

Yes, I'm not sure where this person is getting their information. We are hearing rumors, but nothing for sure.

In the teleconference Coach Patterson says Marlies Gipson will not play at Nebraska. She says Marlies's status will be "day-to-day". With Coach P. in the past, that has usually meant a fairly serious injury that lingers. :(

There's a rumor going around that she dislocated her knee cap. It's just a rumor, but the latest one I've heard.:(

I thought Amber Tarr dislocated her kneecap once. The official version on her online biography called it a patella. Are those different things? Anyway as you can see below she missed 3 conference games.

From her bio: As a junior: ...dislocated left patella Jan. 21 and sat out three games before returning to action

Best wishes to Gipson as she recovers.

The patella is the kneecap and I was there when Amber dislocated hers (and I've dislocated mine) it isn't pleasant. Hope Gipson is ok...she's been a pleasure to watch.

... “I’m not going to talk about the details of the injury,” K-State coach Deb Patterson said in Tuesday’s Big 12 teleconference. “But at this stage, we’re looking at her status as day-to-day. In the Nebraska game, there’s not a chance we’ll have her there. On Saturday (at Baylor), I feel it’s probably one of those game-day decisions.”

Patterson typically has taken a Bill Snyder-like approach to public discussion of most injuries. Former standout Laurie Koehn missed an entire season and parts of another with a “foot injury,” the specifics of which were never revealed.

Gipson, a 6-foot sophomore, has had trouble with a kneecap in the past, and there’s speculation that is the affected area again this time. ...

... “It would be a stretch to think we would have (Gipson) against Baylor,” K-State coach Deb Patterson said [Wednesday night]. ... http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/basketball/16485064.htm

Gipson still out, could return soon

MANHATTAN — Kansas State forward Marlies Gipson, who suffered a knee injury in practice, will miss Saturday's game at Baylor but could return to K-State's lineup in the near future, coach Deb Patterson said Thursday.

"She's making good progress," Patterson said. "I continue to say it's day-to-day. She is, from my perspective, progressing very quickly."

... When asked if there was a possibility of losing Gipson for the season, Patterson said, "No, not at all. I have a positive outlook on her being back relatively soon." ...

I certainly don't want her to come back before she's fully healed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though, that it will be soon.....
