The short and sweet version.

Head coach is granted leave to battle breast cancer. Later she is told by her supervisor to stay away from the team.

A recently hired assistant coach is named Interm Head Coach.

Star returning player leaves.

Interim head coach is placed on paid leave for "allegations that he made inappropriate comments"

Head Men's coach is "overseeing" the women's program. He names his third assistant as the Interim Head Coach.

Oh did I mention, one of the men's basketball player is alleged to have raped one of the WBB players.

Good heavenly days, what a mess. And, unfortunately, from the sound of things it's going to be a long time before it's all resolved. Sounds like a good place to do some recruiting (yes, I know, the devil gets after me every once in a while.;)

Talk about a disaster. Totally amazing that all of this is going on.

...but I seriously doubt it would happen at a school that wasn't all-football-all-the-time.

And the situation gets worse for San Jose State. They blew a second half lead to North Dakota State, who has an RPI of 236.

Then they traveled south on I-29 and were blown out by 5 minutes into a 98-63 loss to South Dakota State. Two Jackrabbits scored at least 20 points. Megan Vogel had 23 and Jennifer Warkenthien had 20 and Courtney Grimsrud had 18. All 12 players on the roster scored. The hardest part for me, as a Jackrabbit fan, is that our RPI went down with the win.

Quote from Interim head coach Derrick Allen:
"It's tough in any situation if you go down 18-1, not just with what we're going through," Allen said. "To go down 18-1, you just have to keep the girls' heads above water."
This team is struggling.
