This will be an interesting game, posted a link on the front page.......
Here's a quote from that article from Sherri Coale:
"They know us, and we know them, so it will be a little bit of who does what they do best"
I seem to recall that the last game in Norman, Tarr was fighting some back problems?......It will be fun, though it's not fun to root "against" a Big XII team in March.
Here's an interesting note from the article:
It's only the fifth time three teams from the same conference have met in a regional in the 21 years since the NCAA began
administration of women's basketball. The SEC did it 3 times, the Pac-10 once.
Respect all opponents, fear none
Even if you've played a team 14 times and beat them all 14 times.
March is different, March is madness......16 left standing, only the best are left to dance.

In the last game of the season at OU, Tech actually scored more baskets than OU. OU won that one on the free throw line. It would be sad if OU lost, given that they are "overall" a better team than Tech and have a better shot at the title.
Tech is hot right now. Marsha has her team playing at their best, so OU better not look too far ahead.
But I still think OU will win this one!

I really don't think OU is looking ahead at all. I'm sure they know better than anyone that Tech will be a tough opponent.
On another note, here's a Lieberman quote on Tech:
Jia Perkins, another member of the great sophomore class, has raised her game, which
is tough when you don't have that older, more experienced player with you out on the
court showing you the way. Amber Tarr also has been fantastic, as well as Natalie
Ritchie and Cisti Greenwalt.
My only comment is with her saying Jia doesn't have that older more experienced player out on the court, then mentions Tarr in the next sentence. Does she not realize Tarr is a Sr?
I have to admit that I am pulling for OU in this one. They have proved that they are the best team in the strongest overall conference in the land. Experience will prevail! Tech is a good team, but their youth has shown to be a liability at times and March is a tough month in which to play. Dales, Caufield and Ross can really kick it up a notch when they need to.
Should be a fun game. On to San Antonio.

Not really our year to be talking trash, ya know? I'm pretty pleased we made it to this point, actually. A win would be awesome, but a great effort is what I'm looking for. OU is certainly the favorite and has the talent and focus to get it done. Strange things happen to underdogs, I hope it's our night and things fall our way. If that happens, it will be the first for us this year.
According to the Asst. AD, Marsha is pumped for another shot at OU. I just hope the girls are just as pumped, which has been somewhat of an issue this year. I hope they show up to play.
May the best team on Saturday win. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

I agree, press....I really hate rooting against a Big XII team in MARCH. Just doesn't feel right.

As much as I feel that OU has the best chance at winning the NC against UCONN, there is just no denying rooting for your team regardless of their chances of winning. Can Tech win? Yes...on any given day ANYONE can win. Is Tech favored by anyone to win? No. I am a Lady Raider fan I will hope that the LR win this game, but if they don't I will certainly hope that OU wins it all. Like Press said, all I can ask for is a great effort from the Ladies and hope that they win in the process. Go Lady Raiders!!!

I wasn't thrilled with this part of the bracket when it was announced, but I was so pleased for Tech to be hosting that it didn't seem right to complain. I knew if Tech hosted, we would likely be paired with either UConn or OU. If I had my druthers, I'd have picked the Midwest region. That would have kept no more than 2 Big12 teams in any region; it would be closer and in the same time zone; and Tech has never lost to Vanderbilt. Oh well. I agree we have a chance to win, but I also agree the probability is significantly less than 50%. It's frustrating only having two chances to pick on non-conference opponents who are not so familiar with our strengths and weaknesses.

Tournament tidbits
* About 5,550 tickets have been sold to the 12,380-seat Pavilion.
* Each team received 200 tickets, and Stanford and Colorado sold their allotments. Texas Tech returned about 50 and Oklahoma
about 100.
