At the half Wyoming leading Colorado 31-22 Jackie McFarland is leading the Buff charge with 14 points. CU shooting 53% making 9 of 17 shots the first half but committed 15 turnovers leading to 13 Cowgirl points..

It appears that for the third year in a row that Buffs are going to get schooled by the Cowgirls - CU doesn't understand that they have to play smart on every possession to have a shot at winning in Laramie.
In addition to way too many turnovers, the Buffs have no one besides Jackie who is stepping up their play. Where are the perimeter players in this game? With a disadvantage on the interior the Cowgirls have packed in their defense and dared the Buffs to beat them from the outside. It seems CU has failed miserable in this respect.
This game is evidence that the Buffs still may be a year away from a big turnaround.

Ouch. Gritty, blue collar team with less talent at most positions (although Bolerjack is an UNREAL shooter), beats young team that still has to think too much. This was like hitting a brick wall for the Buffs. Hope they can shake it off for the Coors Classic this weekend.

Legerski has done a very good job at Wyoming. Another player who is a very good all around player is junior Hanna Zavecs from Australia. McDuffey is another good young player. IMO, the Cowgirls will give BYU, Utah, UNM, TCU as well as the rest the MWC some problems this year.

I agree! They looked great against my Wildcats. Those 3's they were making were unbelievable!
It's not a loss to be ashamed of IMO. They are pretty tough.

Agreed, but you never hear about him outside of the MWC. I liked the fact that the WY players NEVER took a play off. They were focused and worked hard through the entire game, when less-disciplined teams might have relaxed once the lead was over 15.

Legerski was an assistant at Utah under Elliott for several years. His new assistant is Katie Kern, who played her college ball under Flanagan at New Mexico. She also played for Flan in high school. I always thought her work ethic and the fundamentals she played with could result in her being a good coach in time. IMO her personality will help her bcome a good recruiter as well. Wyoming will always give a hard effort with Legerski there. I think he is a Wyo native and grad, so he might stay there a while, but he may get some tempting offers.

He should. His team is very sound. They run the motion offense very well. They know how to screen and move without the ball. None of those things happen by accident.

Here in MWC land, we are all expecting Wyoming to pull some upsets especially in Laramie and to be a WNIT team if not a possible sneak into the NCAA :)
