Wow! Final possession showed bad judgment, not that the 3 pt shot was that bad, but there was no one under the basket to rebound for Baylor. No one. Wow! I thought they had such a good chance to beat Duke. Okay, it's time for the rest of the big 12 to put up or shut up. This is a huge disappointment for us but the rest of us need to suck it up and win.

Drake had to play lights-out basketball to have a chance to beat Baylor. Unfortunately, they played lights-oout basketball. That loss really hurts.

Darn! I had Baylor picked to the final four and then losing to Oklahoma. I hope the rest of the Big 12 teams hang in there.

me, too.....cyfan, bracketbuster.

I watched the whole game and Sheila Lambert wasn't on her game offensively. And that kid from Drake could have shot it out of her rear and the darn thing would have gone in...they had her saddled with 3 fouls in the first half and didn't capitalize on it....
it was a GREAT game, have to remember at this time of year, EVERYONE comes to play, I don't care who they are or what their seed is.

These games are TOO close......watching the KSU/Arkansas game tonite.....my digital cable box in other room. The lights went out in Manhattan, literally. They even turned out some of the crowd lights so there would be more light on the floor.....
1st half with I don't know how many minutes, TV scoreboard must be messed up too....Ark leads 25-21 and why is Brie Madden in the game, she has the coordination of a goat. No offense to K-State fans or players, but that girl needs another year to grow.

Will update at halftime.........

Come on, Big XII!

I was admittedly rooting for my homestate girls against Baylor, but now Texas and KSU are both in close games as well. At least Tech is holding off Miss St. right now.

Baylor's inside defense stunk!!! That is why they lost this one, plain and simple. I thought the 3 point shot by Stratton was too quick, and that they should work inside for the tie. Drake has a very good team and they are well coached. Their coach worked the refs and the team all night. KMR sat on the bench, uncharacteristicly for much of the game.

It was fun while it lasted. The ladies had a good season and I had predicted that they would do much better than the 6th place finish that was projected by the coaches at the beginning of the season. They had some good wins and I found them very entertaining and fun. That is what it is all about. Good luck to the rest of the Big XII.

Agreed. I figured they'd take an easy 2 if they could get it early, and otherwise run the clock down to 10 or less before getting whatever shot they could, 2 or 3. Even if Stratton had hit the three, Drake still would have had plenty of time to set up the offense for a last shot to win.

I agree they should have worked it in, and Baylor also wasn't exactly crashing the boards....Drake had to have killed them on the boards.

What's up with this NCAA officiating?....I thought they let them play a little in the tourney. It might have been my angle, but Baylor couldn't draw a foul under the basket and Drake was living at the line......

Bottom line is, a team with Sheila Lambert and Danielle Crockrom should not lose to Drake. They just shouldn't. No matter how we try to break it down. Well, at least I don't have anyone from Baylor on my team. (grin) But, I would rather they had won.

I think they lost because Baptists shouldn't play on Sundays...or dance, for that matter. Actually, I hated to see Balor loose. I thought they would have gone further in the tournament. It just goes to show how, often times, "fear of loosing" causes a team to play only "not to loose," and that's what Baylor looked like it was doing.
Sorry Bears...there's always "next year."

Baylor..I had you all the way to the Final 4. I was looking forward to seeing Coach KMR and your dynamic duo in action in the Alamodome.

Air---I've just about had it with your classless baptist/religion jokes. I'm not baptist, but there might be some om here who are. Leave the religion remarks out of your posts and just talk basketball. Your maturity level is way down there, but what can I expect out of a person who still can't discern the difference between "LOSE" and "LOOSE."

I missed on this one. I thought Baylor the mostly likely B12 team after OU to go deep in the tourney. It is sad for the seniors who fell short of their dream. For the program, this is just one more developmental step. Of course I didn't see the game because I was at the Texas game.

Add me to those whose brackets are totally messed up now.
I also thought Baylor would make the Final 4--they had been playing so well lately, with other players besides Crockrom and Lambert stepping up.

Gotta hand it to Drake for not being rattled by the crowd and playing their game. But dangit, I wish Baylor would have won!

I agree with your comments regarding religion. This is not the forum for that. However, even as a UT fan, we all had Baylor going to the Final Four. I will not post anything negative here, because I respect Lambert and Crockrom immensely. They do not deserve to go out in this manner. I had hoped for them to go out a winner. I was in Austin for our game on Sunday and do not know anything about the loss, but I was shocked to hear it on the PA system. Again I am sorry for the players...this was their chance and a team of this caliber may not come around for a long time.

I'm trying to discern "some om here." Do you mean "someone here"? (sort-of-like "lose" and "loose," I guess. QUOTE]Originally posted by Big12Bear:
