The Women's Nike Championship Basketball Clinic will be held September 22-24 just outside Chicago.

Two Big 12 coaches are featured among the notables. Kim Mulkey opens the event on Friday with "Attacking Zone Defenses." Sherri Coale winds it all up with "Motion Offense" on Sunday.

Lots of other big names will also be there: Andy Landers, Jim Foster, Debbie Ryan, C. Vivian Stringer, Tara Vanderveer, Doug Bruno, Sylvia Hatchell, and Geno Auriemma.

"This clinic is teaching high school coaches how to become better coaches," [Maine West HS Coach] Kipp said. "We expect coaches to attend from all over the Chicago area and beyond." http://www.journal-topics.com/sports/06/sp060915.3.html
Please note - Video recording of any clinic session is NOT allowed. Professional video recording is being performed by Championship Productions, Inc. and will be available soon after the clinic is complete. http://www.cbbconline.com/20060922.htmlI wonder if non-coaches will be able to purchase instructional videos. Wouldn't that be cool!

That is some lineup. The Yankees thought they had a Murderer's Row.

Wow, that's an impressive list of coaches they have lined up for that event. I have a hunch that they won't have attendance problems...

It sure would be cool to have access to the video of that, as you said. But I don't know how much a coach can put across about motion offense in a single session of instruction. As far as I can tell, it's a rather advanced teaching topic.

Put your money down and get anything you want - grin.

I went to a HS Coaches all day clinic Coale ran at OU one year - one of the sessions was Motion Offense - she had the team walk through drills and talked about what the drill was designed to teach and why - weaving in philosophy and some practical tips. Was very interesting. I have never played BB and was never interested in the sport until I moved to Oklahoma and was dragged to a couple of games - now I drag other folks!

As I have no background I have tried to learn in many ways - and frankly - I still go to games and mostly follow the ball instead of really "seeing" the game. I read Chipper's observations and those from a lot of the rest of you and stand in awe - I wish I understood so much more. But, I've come a LONG way from having to ask what the "post" was!
