Make that 6-6...which ties an NCAA record for the most threes attempted without missing. Impressive. She needs to keep doing what she's doing cause ISU will need all four to do some damage in the tourney. Go Clones! Is that a first round sweep by the Big XII? Go Big XII!!!!

When I saw Cofield hit her first three, I said "Good news for ISU if someone besides Welle, Gahan, and Wilson is scoring". When she hit the second three, I said "This is ISU's game". If ISU had struggled shooting the ball early, I think Temple's defense could have caused problems.

Congrats ISU on playing past a gritty Temple team. What else would you expect from the Staley coached team. Smalls is a great PG and plays just like her coach. Temple showed why they deserved to be in the tourney.

Cofield certainly made a huge difference. Without her buckets, this could have been a bit more tough...ISU still would have pulled it off. Gahan was terrific on the boards and her usual all around grittiness and heart certainly showed itself.

Believe me, Temple's defense DID cause problems, and plenty of them. Lindsey Wilson, for one, struggled throughout the game. The final score is very deceptive, because Iowa State just could NOT put Temple away. They came back from every single run, every sizeable lead, up until the last three minutes.

I never thought I would see the day this season when I would say to my friend "look, Mary Cofield has more points than Welle." Talk about a good time to step up! I only hope she gets on the consistency train now.....

AHEM!!!

You might note Cofield is on my team (thank God, I'm doing so bad) and someone said during the draft she was injured or not playing. I'm glad I didn't listen to that!

Usally Mary doesn't score much. If she misses her first shot she won't shoot again.

ISU, let her score, let her score, let her score!! (hee, hee)

See how this team competition changes how you watch the tourney?

She can score anytime she wants. I hope she makes her first basket again tonight. In the paper tonight Bill said that he got an email from a friend and asked why he didn't play that #43 (Mary) more this year. She has been playing.

I really talked up Cofield around here before the season. She looked impressive in practice and led all scorers in the 00-01 Cyclone Shootout. However, she just shrinks away when her shot isn't falling. When she is hot, though, she is hotter than anyone.
