View Full Version : ATTENTION LONGHORN FANS!!!
Myself and two friends who post on this message board will be at the sub-regional in Austin. Anybody care to meet up? It would be nice to meet one another.

What are the dates and times of UT's subregional? That potential 2nd round matchup against LA Tech looks enticing, but not if it involves missing a Lady Bears game.

Sunday, in Austin, the second-round game between Friday's winners is set for an 8:06 tip and will be televised on ESPN2.
I'm not sure of my plans yet. I know I'll miss part of the La Tech/UCSB game on Friday. I'll be at both Texas games.

Thanks Carolann. Looks like no dice for me. Our 2nd round game is slated for 6:36 pm. AT least I should be able to watch the 2nd half on TV. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

So several of us were hoping that the subregionals in Austin would be scheduled on the days when the subregionals in Waco were not happening. Why wouldn't the NCAA take that into account if their goal is to get numbers of fans into the stands? I would have loved to have seen eight of the top 64 instead of the four we'll get here in Austin. Go figure.

JK - As to your original question - I'd love to meet. How about between the games in front of gate 30? Any of the hoopscoopers who want to can meet up.

Thanks for a plan, Texan. Is gate 30 the door on the main level leading to section 30? I'll see you there.
Okay, gate 30 between games it is!
I don't know if this was an unusual ticket condition or not, but when I went to the women's regional in Denver last year once you entered the Pepsi Center, you couldn't leave and get back in.
You'd better make sure that your ticket allows returning to the arena before you plan on meeting between games. Disregard this if you are meeting inside the facility.

I've found MOST places this year will not let you back in after you've left the arena....

That was true in KC, wasn't it, swok? I seem to vaguely recall a sign at Municipal that said "No Readmittance" or something like that...
Also a warning: bags WILL be searched. I would recommend leaving any bags larger than a small purse in your car or at home.

'Bags will be searched'. That's ok. I never think of it until I get to the arena. My purse has 5 separate zippered compartments.
Longhorn fans, where is this meeting? I was thinking you meant inside the arena at the entrance to section 39.

yes, mc.....they've actually been pretty strict the last 2/3 years at Municipal....at OU, (as I am a nicotine addict)....they only allow you to go to one place halfway across the arena, ditto Stillwater......now, Baylor, they let you go and come back.

Now I'm confused. I thought you said meet by the entrance to section 30. That would be inside right? Now someone spoke about outside. Then someone mentioned outside by section 39. Any clarifications?

Grjoc, I think you and I had it right to start with. That is how I interpreted the meeting place. It was the use of the word 'gate' that was confusing but no Longhorn fans have said anything about 'outside'. Anyway, unless I hear otherwise, I'm assuming the entrance to section 30.
OKAY! Since I'm the one who suggested all of this, let's make a final decision: INSIDE by the entrance to Section 30, between games. Correct, none of us said anything about OUTSIDE to begin with -- they don't sell concessions outside http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
I look forward to meeting you all there!!!
