I caught it. I caught it. I caught it!
I figured I could shake it, but eventually it hits you like a virus. It leaves you feeling ups, downs, highs, and lows.
It's one part euphroia, one part depression.
It's sort of like catching the Holy Ghost at the Sunday Service.
It hit me tonight. I caught March Madness. Not the "Its March, and the tournaments are coming and aren't these games great." strain of March Madness.
It was the "Ohmygod! My team may actually be in part of March Madness" strain.
I never yelled "Go Big Red" with such passion in a looooong time. It gave me chill.
Thanks to my cousin, and the lads in red pulling a win out against Oklahoma. I get a Saturday tripleheader.
I was so shaken, I called a friend back in Connecticut and just rambled with the giddy delirium that comes from seeing the impossible happen.
You repeat it over and over. You can't believe what you saw, but you saw it. A Cinderella in a red dress, wearing a glass hightop. She gets another dance!
Aggies-Longhorns, followed by Huskers-Jayhawks...and then a trip from American Airlines Arena to Reunion Arena for The Last Word: Courtney vs. Sophia/Oklahoma vs. Baylor -- The Big 12 Womens Basketball Championship Game.
Rivalry. David vs. Goliath. Top Ranked Contender vs. National Champions.
Beware, but fall in love with the Ides of March. There is no cure for this fever (Thank God!). :)
However after the game. I heard this from an Oklahoma fan sitting near me.
"We'd have beaten you darn Huskers if Courtney Paris was out there."
