KU/KSU recruits matchup today (and for ISU fans)....

Lindsey Ballweg (KU) of St. Thomas Aqu. takes on Ashley Sweat (KSU) of McPherson today at 3pm in Topeka. Should be a good game. Ballweg had 23pts to help her team advance over Topeka Seaman 58-40, the Star didn't say about Sweat but they beat Bishop Miege 50-36.

For you ISU fans....Anna Florzak plays tonight at 6:05 in Mizzu Arena against Hazelwood East. Both teams are 26-3. That is the championship game.

If I read the bracket right, the Hazelwood East game is a semi-final matchup - winner to take on the Incarnate Word / Jefferson City winner on Saturday. Incarnate Word shut down ISU bound Stirmlinger to best St. Joseph's in the quarterfinals.

St. Thomas Aquinas just slipped by McPherson in Double OT in the Class 5A state games. McPherson had a chance to win it in the first regulation with no time on the clock and had two free throws and missed both;thus just lost 42-39 in D OT.

Ashley Sweat, Lindsay Ballweg and Lauren Willis and Anna Florzak were all team members Summer of 2004 when they finished 5th place at the AAU Nationals in Chattanooga TN.

This will be the first time in 4 years Ashley and the Pups will not be playing in the Championship game on Sat.
