Played really, really well the first 10 minutes or so and then seem to lose their focus before finishing up the first half strong......Coach Coale was not happy with the start of the 2nd half, and "not happy" is not strong enough wording.....
actually I think Laneisha Caufield was the only one who may have gotten out of a "chewing"....
Caufield absolutely could not miss, think she was 8 of 8 FG and perfect from the FT line in the 1st half......Caufield had 20 points......Montana State had 22 points the first half.....
Laneisha finished up with a career-high 33 points, missing only 2 shots, both those being 3 pointers.......
I was actually standing in the popcorn line at the start of the 2nd half, so I can't say how bad they were, but I think it was pretty bad, I know the majority of the starters found themselves on the bench......Caton Hill shot a ball, laying on her back, surrounded by 3 defenders......and the darn thing just about went in.....Coach Coale sez....she will never take a shot like that again. Not sure what's so bad about it, it's either shoot or get called for 3 seconds, and it hit the rim and almost went in.
Next week vs Illinois will be a better test before they go meet up with Connecticut.
