The exclusion of Klimesova in District 3 is an absolute outrage.

Therefore, I respectfully decline to pick any other players for the Kodak team.

It just wouldn't be right.

I counted that Tech played against 13 of the AA finalists. I doubt many teams in wcbb played against more than that. Even the teams which play Connecticut.

ANd a further outrage that Michelle Snow is a finalist. What a joke. She's the most overrated, overhyped player out there.

{sarcasm} But she can dunk! {/sarcasm}

Careful Jennifer. IMO Snow is not overrated, She simply underperforms very consistently. But more importantly, I tend to believe in Karma. When you say she's overrated over and over again, you set yourself up for her leading her team with 35 points in their stomping of your team.

I said the same thing about Notre Dame in 97. And they beat the Horns in the second round and went all the way to the Final Four. Now I'm saying that the Lady Techsters are a great team and should have hosted.

I agreed that Snow has not played well enough to be on the list.

All the tools, but no results, no consistency.

Her mother's illness (not sure what it is, but I think it is pretty serious) might have a lot to do with the inconsistency.

How many will they pick out of these finalists? 10? 15?

JK, it's a 10 member team, five first-teamers, and five second.

Here's my 10 -- in no particular order and without regard to first or second team (not an easy task):

Sue Bird
Diana Taurasi
Alana Beard
Chantelle Anderson
LaToya Thomas
Stacy Dales
Sheila Lambert
Angie Welle
Kelly Mezzante
Nicole Powell

However, I feel like this 10 are just as good:

Shereka Wright
Chandi Jones
Swin Cash
DANIELLE CROCKRUM
LaNeishea Caufield
Nicole Ohlde
Lindsay Whalen
Ayana Walker
Brandi McCain
Vanessa Hayden

Calling Snow overrated is just as bad as calling Tennessee (as a team) overrated. Snow averages 13pts,7rebounds /game in a very talented team top to bottom, Pat Summitt shuffles her starting line-up everyday and that affects her playing time. If you look at Uconn's dream team, most of their starting 5 average about 14pts/game and nobody complains cause they have won all their games. IMHO Michelle snow and UT's biggest problem is how high the standards they have set-->pretty much coming back to bite them. She can dunk and people expect more of her because of that, if she didn't those numbers would have been OK considering how much TALENT she's surrounded with (See Uconn). Let's face it, the Vols have set the standards so high and that's the biggest reason they didn't even get a top seed this year. If any other team in the nation had only 4 losses at the end of year with just a respectable schedule they would have gotten a top seed. If Texas tech with 11 losses this year(playing 2nd toughest schedule) had lost only 4 games this year they would have gotten a top seed no matter when those losses came because of the toughness of the conference (same as SEC) they play in, Heck! they got a 4 seed despite losing 5 of their last 10 games (2nd round B12 tournament, just like UT). BTW, I'm not a UT fan and personally I don't like them but I'm always shocked when people apply different standards on them. As I a Purdue fan I knew we'd have been awarded a top seed if we would have won the B10 tournament but with 4 losses and playing 5th toughest schedule! UT played a killer schedule (especially non conf) I don't know why all this "overrated" fantalk, may be cuz most of us just love to hate them!

Let me rephrase myself.

Snow is a very talented player who has yet to reach much of her potential, and with what little I've seen of her play (that's my disclaimer) she's got a long ways to go to reach it.
I've just never been impressed with her performances. She rarely shows up in big games.
There are many more deserving players out there, IMHO, including Klimesova.

Tennessee finished their season 7-3 over the last 10 games, including losses to two teams they should have beat (no offense intended Texas fans). Regardless of who they are, that does not sound like a team that deserves a #1 seed. If they would have finished strong and won their tourney, then sure they deserve teh #1 seed.

I'm not a Duke fan, but they did finish strong in their (weak) conference. Had TN gotten a #1 seed over them, I'm sure there would still be plenty of griping.

If Purdue had won their conference, then maybe they would have slipped in at the 4th #1 and put all this to rest.

My impression of Snow is that she is spectacularly talented, but quite inconsistent. When she's on, she's fantastic. The problem is she is often not on, and I get the feeling that Pat doesn't have a whole lot of patience with her. Just my rather superficial impression.

carolann, thank you for your article link earlier in this thread. Perhaps a player/coach disagreement caused Klimesova's ommission on the Kodak list?

And fueling the fire of my outrage are these links:
