Well that is what Coach Linn Dunn of the Seattle Storm of the WNBA called it. But thats a whole extra story that swok34 should tell since she recognized Coach Dunn and snagged her as our "guest speaker". http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif
It was very nice meeting zo, mc6821, swok and her friend in KC. Thanks for lunch zo. I really enjoyed talking to you all.

ah, ron...........this was your write-up. Okay here goes.
The 1st annual Hoopscoop Convention was held at Lilly's restaurant after discovering that the original restaurant chosen was CLOSED.
Linn Dunn of the Seattle Storm was kind enough to give us an update on the WNBA and the Big XII. Seattle, they need someone that can put points on the board. Detroit, heavily loaded with good players doesn't need anyone; according to Dunn. (fyi, a Detroit scout had also stopped by, though not Greg Williams)
Linn Dunn was actually very fun and rather perplexed....she looks around our table, and says, "Oklahoma, Kansas State, Colorado, and Baylor".....wow. We told her a little bit about Hoopscoop and the teams that we were missing here on the boards and she christened our little group, "the 1st annual Big XII Hoopscoop" convention.
And Everyone's going to the WNBA......naw, we asked about Crockrum, Lambert and Welle. I've been kicking myself ever since for not asking about Rosalind Ross. Dunn also informed us that there were 2 players from Seattle playing in the Big XII:
Sheila Lambert and Lindsey Wilson, who is a junior, hmmmmm...an early look?
It was VERY nice to have met Zo, KSUron and mc6821....perhaps at the 2003 convention we will have a few more in Dallas.
It was a lot of fun and I like to be able to put a face with a name, tho' Zo....now I'll always remember you are really a dog. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks swok34, and my wife and I did have a lot of OU fans around us for the champ game so we were able to fit right in with the OU cheers. I think I've got the hand movements down for the "O U" chant but as an old Nebraskan I don't think I'll ever adjust to "Boomer Sooner". Sorry about being for OU zo, but then again we are all Big 12.
Sure. Now I feel really bad for not being able to go. I'm finding a way to Dallas, no matter what... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Wow, that is really cool.
For those of you who missed the convention, you missed out on a fun time. We had a really good visit. It was a real pleasure having a "key note" speaker such as coach Dunn. To really top off the season, a semi-annual convention in San Antonio is in order. Hope to see you ALL there!!!!! Maybe we won't be so rowdy this time. We had that poor waitress shook up.

Hey Ron, Zo, Swok & company, it was great meeting y'all in KC, and getting to talk to coach Dunn was icing on the cake! To echo what Ron said, I really enjoyed talking to all of you. Thanks for lunch Zo, hopefully I can return the favor next year in Dallas; don't know if I can make it to San Antonio.
Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to meet up with any of you fine folks before next year at the earliest.
The one positive is that I am approaching 18 days vacation time, which will give me much more opportunity to get out in the world.
Because I tend to spend so much vacation time with family, I just don't have a whole lot of time left over for "spurrious" pursuits.
You guys are the greatest!

Hi again! I just got out of a meeting and am glad to see all your posts.
If my memory serves me correctly Linn Dunn, when asked about Sheila Lambert, said I want to have her right here; and then she patted her right pants pocket. She also said we could quote her, but the trouble is I did not write things down so I could be wrong. She also commented favorably on the players in the Big 12. It was fun talking with her and I wish I had been more mentally prepared. She has almost made me a Storm fan.

Your memory's much better than mine, ron.......must have been that coke-dumping waitress.. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
Swok, Ron is correct, she did pat her back pocket when she made the comment. BTW, I think we tipped that waitress?
