I'm sure many of our coaches will express their thoughts about the NCAA's over the next few days. I can share what Coach Sharp said in her radio show today...maybe other Tech fans can chime in when I miss something. But I'd be curious in knowing what they others think.
She said the NCAA at the first of year said they were going to reward SOS and RPI and she thinks the seeding speaks volumes (except in Tennessee's case) about that. Only 2 teams from the PAC 10 and ASU only got in by winning the tourney. She was not impressed with Stanford and thinks their lack of competition is really going to hurt them. CSU and La Tech...didn't get to host because of their lack of non-conference strength. In the past those teams have put an emphasis on # of wins...but that's no longer key.
Mideast
As excited as the KSU fans and team were, Coach Patterson was thinking...oh no, not UConn and they rest of us were breathing a sigh of relief.
Arkansas is very athletic...she's seen some video this year (beat both Vandy and SC in reg season) and they will give KSU some trouble.
Midwest
Florida is also very athletic and ISU has stuggled at times with those kinds of teams...things FL may give ISU some trouble.
East
Though La Tech may prove too versatile for Texas...but it's going to be a tough matchup for either team. She thinks Baylor will come out of this bracket with ease.
West
OU is the team to beat and she'd love another shot at them. Thinks Colorado will beat Stanford..
Course she never says much about our matches. SFA has a nice athletic team...a former CU player who transferred there (and sat out a year and who we evidently tried to recruit). MSU has the marvelous LaToya Thomas...an AA her sophmore year (she's a jr. now).
