After a lot of work, I finally have a WBB computer rating system set up. Click one button, and it downloads a list of all wbb teams from collegerpi.com, gets each one's schedule and results, processes them, and posts them on my server. This is the same algorithm I used last season for my Big XII rankings, but that was done in excel and was very non-automatic. I wrote this one in LabVIEW (a graphical programming interface written by National Instruments) which is a lot better for this sort of thing.

Anyway current results are here (and I promise I didn't tweak the algorithm to get ISU to be #4: it just turned out that way http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif )
My Ratings (http://mred.sytes.net/wbb.html)

I'll be working on formatting shortly.

Thanks for all your work mred. For the moment though, neither my computer at home or at work will load the "mred ratings". It may be just me but my computers are hooked up to two different ISP's so I expect there is something temporarily wrong. I look forward to seeing your work.

Unfortunately I have to attend a meeting this afternoon so it will be awhile before I get back. What's worse I will miss a home KSU game. I may have to consider coming to Hilton to make it up! Good luck.

Thanks for pointing that out. I am running a web server on my cable internet ona second computer using a router. The router can be a bit flaky, and it wasn't letting the virtual server (which routes all http requests to my serving computer) do what it was suppossed to. I reset the router, and the link should work now.

Cool! It looks great. Will it hurt KSU that we just beat Oregon State 95-61? Thanks

I did a quick calculation by hand. That victory is worth around .78 points, which should considerably raise your rating (currently at .675; which is just an average for all games). http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

As long as your system works better than the FREAKIN BCS then I guess we can live with it. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

I'm a huge proponent of a playoff system, so I'll second your comment! Speaking of playoffs, go UNI! They're in the final four of the I-AA football playoffs.

I reformatted the text of my page, so it should be easier to read now. No bells and whistles yet, though.

I agree with your comments about playoffs but: since I'm a Nebraska football fan as well as a KSU women's basketball fan I think the BCS final result is just fine. I would have wished that just one of our teams could have gotten it done the right way though. I hope all the Big 12 teams kick some booty in the bowls.
