A little history note.......OU has NEVER won this tournament since it's inception back in 1976 as the Big 8.

Congrats to OU on confirming their championship!

In the 'how soon they forget' category:
I was listening to the internet broadcast by the Oklahoma radio team at the end of the game. I do have to take exception with the OU play by play guy who said that no one in the history of the B12 has won the conference in such a convincing fashion. OU just 'matched' what Texas Tech did in 1999. Tech won the regular season championship outright with a 14-2 record by two games over Iowa State (12-4). Then Tech won the conference tourney by beating K-St by 19 in the quarterfinals, beating Nebraska by 18 in the semis, and beating Iowa State by 14 in the final. Tech placed 3 on the all-tournament team including the MVP Angie Braziel.

I hope that is where the similarity to Tech's 1999 season ends. Tech won in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament that year and then suffered a disappointing loss in the Regional semis to Rutgers.

Congratulations, OU, for blasting through the Big 12 tournament. I'll be cheering you on in the NCAA's. Tear 'em up.

OU played an outstanding tourney. They did struggle just a little on offense in spots but the defense never rested. Dionnah Jackson in particular was OUtstanding. Dales and Jackson deserved their all tourney selections. You could see not only first rate execution but also great coaching with varied game plans for the teams OU faced. OU has it all including great fans that were fun to be around. I hope to see OU in the final four. (unless KSU is in OU's regional) Go Big XII.

May I add my congratulations. Back from KC a bit dissappointed, but convinced the better team won. Best defense BU has faced all season. I know OU will go far in the NCAAs; hope to meet again soon by the Alamo.

Congratulations to OU on a tremendous season. Only 6 more games to go.

In '98 also, Tech had a pretty nice run. They finished with a 15-1 conference record. Only those upstart Cyclones spoiled a perfect conference season that year. In the tournament, they beat CU (80-49), OSU (53-49 hmmm...they've often given Tech fits), and KU (71-53). I prefer not to remember how the season ended. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif

I have to concede....actually, I'm happy to assert that the conference is much tougher now than it was in '98 and '99. I am extremely impressed that Oklahoma went through this conference season and tournament with only 2 losses. Wow!!!

What an impressive tournament run by OU. Stacy Dales was the obvious MVP. Go out there OU and play that same ball in the NCAA tournament!

Congrats to OU for winning the championship and BU for having such an impressive season. I just got back from KC and was able to watch every single game and I enjoyed everyone of them.

Sometimes you don't appreciate what individual players do until you see them up-close in person. I have been a little hard on Stacey Dales all season, thought she was a great player, but maybe a little overrated; however, she convinced me this week that she is the heart and soul of this team and is well deserved of everything she gets.

As for Baylor, what a year! Lambert, so much fun to watch, intense, leads this team to wins. It was great to see BU fans enjoying themselves and experiencing the championship game and being a winner regardless of the outcome. As a Tech fan, it's certainly hard to lose, but I appreciate good teams and I saw several this weekend.

KSU, another team I am so impressed with, especially in person. They will be heck to deal with over the next few years. Ugh! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

It's been a fun year, the B12 has 7 teams in, ALL HOSTING!!!! We have to make a run at this thing this year and someone please get to the Final Four!!

Good luck to everyone!
