Spouse and I are planning to make the trip to Norman next Sunday. When were were in Norman a couple of years ago (playing TN), we ate at a fantastic Mexican restaurant near campus with a bar atmosphere, treelined street, great patio. But darn cant remember the name. Any suggestions?

Also, any recommended bed and breakfasts close to campus? Thanks in advance. :BU:

This is the only "bed and breakfast" that I'm familiar with and have known others that have stayed there. It's probably 4 miles north or campus over near the public library. They have rooms at the Inn and also have 4 or 5 cabins right across the street.

Here's a link to the eating places down on campus corner:

There are also quite a few along Ed Noble Parkway (in addition to hotels), that is west of I-35 as you are coming into Norman from the south.

Here's the link to the Norman Visitors Bureau that gives links to different restaurants, there are also a couple other bed and breakfast listed as well:

I think you may be referring to the Mont (Boyd & Classen), which actually is a bar but has the best Mexican food in town in my opinion. The street it's on is definitely rich in tree-lined greenery and has a great patio where most people choose to eat. But I may be wrong since the Mont is not specifically a Mexican restaurant. As for Mexican restaurants close to campus, there is Pepe Delgado's in campus corner (Asp St), but it doesn't have a patio or a tree lined street (or even a bar atmosphere), so I don't think you went there. There is also La Luna in campus corner (Buchanan St), which I think has a great patio, but also not on a tree-lined street. It might have a bar atmosphere, I've never been there. I'm probably overlooking some restaurants that fit all of your qualifications.

It was the Mont! In a fit of frustration, I went back through my checkbook on Quicken to figure where I was eating in late March 2004. Fantastic place and we will eat/drink there again. I refuse to go to that game sober, it will be much too painful!

Just a note - La Luna isn't open on Sundays right now. I know the owner and have been bugging her to open on Sundays during basketball season!
