View Full Version : Congratulations to OU!
They have played like a champion, and like a high #1 seed.
I can't even imagine a scenario now where OU won't get a 1.
Incredibly, in what appears to be a 20 point win, Kansas State has not shot one single free throw all night. I believe that K-State is easily one of the top-10 teams in the country.
This is what it is all about, people.
Where's UConn! Bring 'em on! They need a lesson, one that they can punch their ticket to - IF they make it to San Antonio!

I was amazed they didn't shoot a free throw either but this wasn't a down and dirty in the post game. I'm just glad the refs are allowing the big 12 teams to showcase their talent.
Boy are the Sooners hot or what? Remember last year in post season play YCN? Stacey Dales was not on her "A" game. Through the first 2 games, she is on her "A+" game! She is not only playing like an All-American but the player of the year. And as many have pointed out Sheila Lambert ain't chopped liver.
Baylor is off to a great start tonight; what a game that would be Saturday night!
I can't wait!
This is what it's all about!
Last year after Jen Cunningham broke her acl I watched, horrified, as OU lost all the momentum that they had up until that point, from January until well into March, when we were toasted by Washington.
The team was tired most of all mentally, and the physical component followed. We just weren't there after the first two rounds. When you coupled the stress of the bogus allegations of a cheap shot against Stanford with the utterly ridiculous seeding assignment, we were as good as toast.
Not this year. NO WAY LADIES! We are loaded for bear and are going to deliver it.
This is all I could have dreamed of. UConn, here we come!
Be ready girls, because we owe you one!

While watching tonight's game, I thought exactly what you all have expressed. OU is peaking at the right time, and Stacy Dales is on a mission. Jackson is no longer a freshman. Talbert is coming on strong lately.
ANd how about that Defense????
Kudos to KSU for a fine season. They'll get to host, and they play well at home.
Wecker is incredible. I look forward to watching this bunch the next 2-3 years, but not when they are they opposition!!
Totally amazing that the team that demoralized Texas in the quarters looked so bad and out of form a day later. Credit to OU. Where was that KSU team of a day ago? I hope they show back up for the Big Dance.

But that's just it Bevo. Everyone was saying that KSU wasn't really playing all that bad. OU's defense was just at the highest level I've ever seen it. Notice, it wasn't some 20-2 run that OU administered over a 3 minute period or something. OU was down 16-10 and methodically and steadily kept increasing the lead until 45-28 at halftime. OU's defense never let KSU get going.
And subing Dionnah Jackson for Ross to cover KSU's Koehn was great last night. Jackson was in Koehn's face all night long and Koehn could hardly get a shot off. OU really disrupted KSU's offense. And Talbert did a masterful job on Ohlde. Ohlde had 6 pts in first half a 2 in the second. Amazing.
Talbert has really matured as a player. And this entire Sooner team is peaking at JUST the RIGHT time!!

In regards to some of the comment's about last year......
Stacey Dales had pretty much played a college season, the Olympics, a college season and she ran out of gas.....and for the other players, Stacey meant so very much to the team last year and I think her being off/tired that game as well as the time zone affected them all.........
Stacey Dales turned her juice on the end of January and just keeps on juicing......... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
What an incredible job they have done in the tournament thus far; I sat down and watched the majority of the two games on tape...
Caton Hill made an awesome Stacey Dales no-look-pass in the OU/KSU game. The whole team, ok, the 6 girls we have come to know and love and playing with so much chemistry.

And Caton had a quote in the post game interview that was pretty funny. Didn't hear the whole thing, but she said something about how she planned it that way...but not with a straight face.
Still looked good, planned or not!

I saw that interview with Caton.....they also had Stacey and I'm guessing Stacey was making faces at her... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif I think those 2 can be big cut-ups at times.
