I'm not sure about Dish Network, but you can get all local channels on directv. Surely Dish has a similar setup. If not, it's time to get out the ole rabbit ears! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

DishNetwork recently increased the # of local channels I can get with my $5.99/month, but 55 isn't one of them, nor is it listed under 'additional local channels'. There's about 8 or 9 it lists, but 55 is not one of them! Do you know the call letters (or whatever) for that channel and maybe I'll call Dish?

On DirecTV and DFW local channels it is Channel 52, not 55. It's listed in the local TV Guide that comes in Sunday's paper too.

Guns, the men's games are on ch 52, but the women's semis are on ch 55.

Sorry Jennifer, I have no idea what their letters are.

I think I'm SOL, but for anyone else in the same boat, I found this info. I have no clue what to do with this though.
Out with the rabbit ears and into a crappy reception.
I hope I'm worrying for nothing--anything else I find does say the wbb games are on FSN, but DMN says 55.

KLDT-TV Channel 55

Network Service: shopping, infomercials, ACN- shopping
ID: Lake Dallas TX/Fort Worth TX
Facilities: 460' 3240 kw DA

Transmitter: 33° 0' 19" N 96° 58' 59" W
2450 FM3040, Lewisville
History: KLDT changed from independent to infomericals/shopping 2/2000.

I just noticed the transmitter address says FM3040. I live VERY near there. Might that mean I could get ok reception w/ my rabbit ears?
Sorry if that's a dumb question--all this satellite stuff is way over my head.

bear--are you in Dallas or did you go to KC?

Jennifer, I don't know what channels you get, but you could try searching the channel listings here:
http://204.95.170.116/dishsite/listings/gridall.asp

for "Big 12" and see what you find. I also found out some more info on Channel 55, including their phone number, you might give them a call. Here's the info:

Thanks YCN.
I called dishnetwork and they weren't much help, but they did say they do not carry 55.

This just sucks, I was finally going to sit down and relax and watch some bball (only caught the last half of the last game yesterday), and now have to deal with fuzzy tv, assuming I can pick the games up at all.

Wonder what will be showing Saturday night on FSN here in Dallas?

Jennifer, I checked the Dish Network listings for the Dallas area, and if you get any of these channels, you can see the games tonight: 414, 416, 418, 421, 451, 452 and 453.

thanks ycn; my dish network screens aren't telling me what is showing at 6, but the newspaper still says it's on 55 and that the Dallas Mavs are on FSN tonight (channel 416). I guess I'll see in a couple of hours...

I'm here in Dallas Jennifer. Yes, FoxSW will be showing the Mavs game tonight. Thank God I have a little magnavox backup TV that still has rabbit ears.

Jennifer, I did a little more checking, and if you only have the $5.99 local channel service, there isn't any doubt - you won't get the Big 12 women's games.

America's Top 100 package is the cheapest that has the Fox regional networks package; if you have that or better, you will be able to get the game.

Otherwise, both games are being preempted by the Mavs, just like the Avs preempted the evening games here in the Denver area yesterday. I got to see the CU-ISU game only because a local religious station which also happens to carry Big 12 games decided to pick up that one game last night. I missed the BU-TTU game.

Fortunately for me, the rest of the women's games, and all of the men's as well, are being carried locally - the women's by Fox Sports Rocky Mountain, and the men's by the religious station, KWHB.

BTW, Dallas local channel 55 doesn't have a satellite presence, so the only way you can get them is with an antenna or cable.

I got the game! Woohoo, it was on my FSN. No complaints here.
Not sure if I'll get the 2nd game--my menu is still showing not available, but at least I won't go to bed angry.
I think the Mavs are scheduled for 8, so I'll probably be pulling out the rabbit ears.
