in the second half, I'll be shocked.

Right now, Linda Lappe of CU is POG, although that will probably change at least twice in the next 12 minutes.

The shots are starting to fall for the Cyclones, and the CU lead is now 42-40 with 12:24 left. ISU is still not taking good care of the ball.

Twister Sisters in front, 46-44, and a foul!

Lindsey Wilson burns the bottom of the net on a 14 footer with 1 second on the shot clock! 48-46 ISU!

YCN

50-46 ISU, are they starting to run away?

mred

Hartshorn and Bjorklund both have 4 fouls for CU. Welle still only has 2.

Oh my! What a GREAT second half. It's like it is two different teams than we saw in the first half.

Game's not over yet, I suspect that this one may come down to the final possession.

Insane bucket by Wilson, blocked and forced in the hole.

Oh my!

YCN

If CU wins, Lappe is player of the game, no question.

52-50 ISU, 4:40 remaining.

Can someone please tell the Fox commentator that Cowgil doesn't play for Iowa State! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

She plays for K.C., right?

Good thing Gahan traveled, because that was as bad a charge as could be called. ISU by 2, Buffs with the ball.

54-all.

1-1/2 minutes left.

All game long, as a Baylor fan, I've been trying to decide which of these two I would rather have to face tomorrow. I think I have changed my mind about 30 times. So, since I think it is impossible for them both to lose, I have decided to stop thinking, sit back, and enjoy the end of an amazing game.
Good luck to both... see one of ya tomrrow!!!

After 2 free throws by Welle, ISU up by 2 with 1:21 remaining.

51.7 secs left. ISU up 56-54. CU ball.

Bad pass by Wilson, turnover off off Gahan.

CU ball, down by 2. Time out. 0:51 remaining.

Game may be decided in the last second.

Tie game. ISU ball. 28 on the gameclock, 25 on the shotclock.

This is insanity! 28 seconds left, game tied. And BTW, mred, it was kinda like Gahan tripped on her shoelaces crossing the lane and stumbled, then crashed into the CU player after the whistle.

No way! She was tripped!

Of course, I can't actually see the game...

Welle scores, Sisters win!

Why didn't CU take the timeout?

Sorry folks, I missed on this one, predicting a win in the last second.

Actually it was a win in the last 3.

I LOVE YOU TWISTER SISTERS!!!! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Lindsey Wilson is amazing! She made some ill-advised plays in this game, but positively WILLED the team to win tonight! I told my husband that I want to teach our son to play the point like Lindsey!

mred
03-07-2002, 12:31 AM
Anyway, Lindsey drove the lane, missed the shot, and Welle put it back in with about 3 seconds left.

Does this seal a host seed for ISU?

YCN

cycofan, the only way that can happen is for your kid to get heavily involved in sports that include all the muscle groups of the body.

Research says that certain sports are better than others, but I'm no expert.

mred

Stats of the game:

Welle: 23 points, 15 rebounds
Wilson: 14 points, 7 assists, 1 TO

Gahan hit ISU's only three of the game. ISU only put up something like 4.

YCN

mred, I'm pretty sure that ISU, like Texas (can't believe the KSU game!) were already assured of hosting before the outcome.

Now there isn't any possible chance that they won't play 4 games in the NCAA's at home, assuming they win the first 3!

YCN - my husband's response was, "so you want to teach him to play like a girl?" Heck yes....a girl that plays like that! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Is this entire conference more incredible than special this year.

What a treat! Three more games, then the chess tournament begins.

Good game! Not always quality basketball but a good game none the less. I'm glad ISU won. I don't know why, but I love Lindsey Wilson's style and how can you hate hardworkers like Angie Welle and Tracy Gahan? I haven't always like ISU, but I think they are beginning to grow on me. Well at least Lindsey is! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/cool.gif

RaiderPower, I had tickets to the Denver regional last year, thinking that OU would end up there - silly me.

When they didn't stay at home, I gave half my tickets to ISU fans, and wore my OU garb to the Pepsi Center in Denver.

The ISU fans invited me to their pregame gig, and not only didn't string me up for my garb, they welcomed me with open arms as a comrade of the Big 12 wars. In fact, I had to finally decline all the drinks that they offered me, for fear I would lose my bearings. I even shook hands with ISU's AD, and hobnobbed with the movers and shakers of that program. Even though I am a pretty private person, I have to admit it was quite a bit of fun.

I won't forget that.

Tomorrow will be a great day for women's college basketball! That OU - KSU game will be a barn burner! I'm concerned for the Clones to be able to bounce back from this emotional win. Hopefully they show up ready to play, and we will see what happens!

Cycofan,

That's funny, when Lindsey was here playing for Roosevelt High we said she played more like a guy than a girl (in a complimentary sense of course), she was so strong attcking the hoop and so strong with the ball.

What a game!!!!!!! Two teams playing with everything they have. In a game like this you hate the fact someone has to lose.
Since ISU is my favorite team Colorado is my second favorite team in the Big 12.
