OSU and Halterman

I posted an article on the front page called,
"Halterman faces one who got him fired".

Interesting quote from Halterman, "I don't know what they expect at Oklahoma State," Halterman said. "Everybody in the Big 12 has made women's basketball an emphasis except us.

"It's never been important at Oklahoma State except to our coaching staff."

And the article comments,
"Halterman is a victim of bad timing. When his Cowgirls soared, no one noticed. Now that the sport is under the microscope, his Cowgirls have dipped."

True, he did have some really good teams in the late 80's, eary 90's. But who cared about wbb then? Anyhow...sorry Halterman, but I hope OU ends your OSU career today. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Actually that's not true. A loss today and they'll probably get a WNIT berth. Wonder if they'll go though?

Jennifer, the Sooners' game with the Cowgirls has me scared, really scared.

OSU has absolutely nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain by playing lights out and beating OU. If they win, they are THISCLOSE to gaining a berth in the NCAA's, and they keep their head coach to another day.

I just can't see them playing badly today. OU will either have to be very good or very lucky to win.

Wish I didn't have to work!

I've been watching the announcements of firings, non-renewals, and retirements. Some of the firings seem obviously justified. The records of some of the departing coaches make me pause. The demand to win and win now is growing rapidly in the field of womens basketball coaching.

This game has me nervous as well. OU isn't going to be taking them lightly, that's for sure. I just hope they can come out relaxed and play their game. If so, it'll all be fine.
