5 1/2 minutes in, and Kansas is up 10-8?
Then again, Kansas was pretty much even with ISU in the first half of both ISU-KU games.

Thanks for the updates grojc. I appreciate it. And kudos to Kansas! That team fought all year even though they were outgunned. It would have been too much for Texas to have to play another overtime game. Jody and the UT fans only have so many beats left in their hearts you know.

Whew! Now, this is why I was nervous about this tournament! Dare I hope the Longhorns have gotten their bad game out of their system for the week? Kansas got good contributions from a number of players including Selena Scott, Hilgencamp, and Blair Waltz. Blair Waltz seems to have improved as the season went on. She should be a bright spot for Kansas next year.

Maybe I've redeemed myself a bit. I posted the big one about Kim MR while I was still disgusted by the behavior. The rational posts allowed me to see my own overreaction. I love women's basketball and want the Big 12 to do well. And I even think Baylor is the best team in the conference now.

An excellent effort Kansas. That is what you call athletics. They didn't quit on themselves.
I hope Nebraska can play with such honor later tonight against Iowa State.

carolann, I don't think I would be too upset with Texas if they do have another game of this nature in their system. After all they have already had a good year and they may just want to rest up for the NCAA's a little early. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif Just kidding. I think we do need to give credit to Kansas for hanging tough and I'm glad to see you and others are doing that. I'd like to think that 0-17 B-12 or not KU would have been darn respectable in a lot of other conferences.
I expect Jody and the young ladies of Texas will be VERY ready to play tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a tough game. I'll be proud of Texas and Kansas State no matter how it comes out.
K-State is going to have a NCAA seeding show and rally at Bramlege on Sunday. I hope we get a host seed.

Wow, when looking at the box score (Disclaimer: I know STATS don't tell the whole story! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif), Stephens had 17 rebounds (9 OFF) while Texas outrebounded KU 45-27.
To get outrebounded by that much, including allowing 21 OFF rebounds, and to only lost by 2...you must be playing your heart out somehow.
At least the KU Srs. know they went out w/ a tough fight. You gotta give them respect for not showing up beaten.
How to put a positive spin on today's game...
1) It is really hard to beat a team in the final regular season game and then turn around and beat them again in the first round of the tournament a week later.
2) It's good to get our bad game out of our system.
3) This is the toughest conference in the country.
4) A win is a win is a win.
Bottom line...we live to fight another day!

Congrats to KU. They played their hearts out and, with Texas playing tentative, this game was a real heartstopper. I've had more fun with a root canal. I don't think the UT players and coaches had much fun, either. After the game they rushed off the court while KU stayed on court and celebrated. I hope UT is ready to hit the courts today. We know they've got it in them.

Let me get this straight. KU stayed on the court and celebrated a loss....or that the season mercifully came to an end? If it was the former, I think I know why they're 0-17.
Playing a team close is not a reason to celebrate, but playing a team as tough as you possibly can, giving 110% effort is a reason to hold your head high and feel good walking off the court, knowing you gave it your best.
