I know stats might go down a bit when B12 play starts, but ISU has played a few decent teams already. ISU has 27 games scheduled, so I'm going to assume a 30-game season (1 B12 tournament game plus two more between B12 tournament and a postseason tournament).

Through six games...

I always think those are fun to look at.

I wanted to see where Ivana Catic would be in assists and she would be a 219 which would be #1 for a season.

In looking those up I came across the scoring numbers and they are just MIND BLOWING.....

1177, 881, 883, 758 #1-#4 all Lynette Woodard for a single season. There are kids that don't to a 1000 pts. till they are Jr's/Sr's or not at all. Just amazing really. Those things will never be touched.

Iowa State hasn't been very good long enough to have any untouchable records like those, although 3700 points over a career is the sort of record a school could go a few hundred years without seeing. :) Angie Welle holds the ISU single season records in points and rebounds, but they are "only" 676 and 372 (20.5 ppg and 11.3 rpg) which are great but not impossible to beat.

Lindsey Wilson twice came close to the scoring record, scoring 630 points (19.1 ppg) the same season Welle had 676. She actually had a higher average a season later (19.3) but came well short of the record because ISU played in fewer games.

Welle's rebounding record will be harder to beat. Her 372 in 2002 is 75 rebounds more than #3 on the list -- Stephanie Smith's 297 rebounds in 1986. Welle holds #2 (330 in 2001) and #4 (283 in 2000) as well.

Ezell could have a serious shot at breaking the career scoring record if she keeps this pace up. Welle was a four-year starter who averaged 16.3 ppg for her career. Ezell has proven she is capable of that pace.

It sure did make me smile seeing the names Taylor, Welle, and Wilson again. :)
