Duke is the most vulnerable team in the top 4 right now, in spite of their undefeated record in a conference shallow in contenders, due to their paucity of top-25 wins.

Should they lose the ACC tournament title to North Carolina, they will have a 2-2 record against top-25 teams, not a good record for a team aspiring to a #1 seed.

Another side effect of this is that a North Carolina win would likely mean that Texas Tech would need to win 2 games in the Big 12 tournament to ensure a hosting seed.

With 2:36 remaining, Duke leads 75-70. Only moments ago they took their first lead in the last 20 minutes of gametime.

Duke has won the tournament, although the clock hasn't expired.

Alana Beard showed why she will soon be named a first-team All-American.

Doesn't change things much, except for Texas Tech.

I believe now that Tech only needs to win one game to clinch a hosting berth.

It's kinda nice to be able to see Indiana winning the Big 10 tourney and going to the NCAA's for the first time since 1995. They basically had 3 upsets after beating Iowa, Purdue, and Penn State. Those are big names people!!

RaiderPower, the win was absolutely huge for IU.

There was some serious question as to whether or not they would get to dance, although just getting to the Big 10 championship game probably dispelled them. Now they look like a solid upper-half seed.

Amazing how a conference tournament can change things!

And I still don't like them (the tournaments), at least not at the end of the season.

I remember a long time ago when the Big 8 had an annual event, the holiday championship tournament. I don't think that any other conference had that. What was really nice about it is that no matter who won, it didn't really matter, because the regular season champion was the guaranteed entry into the dance. This tradition went on for many years, in spite of some protest, because it was reasoned that the income received from the tournament far outweighed the objections.

Maybe the Big 12 could reinstitute the holiday tournament, as a mockery of the NCAA, to guarantee the first berth into the NCAA tournament.

Is there really anything the NCAA could do about that?
