I don't know to much about the assistants around the league. I'll go with Kamie Ethridge since she's one of the all-time great Lady Longhorns.

Steffanie Blackmon, Baylor.....It was tight between Cisti Greenwalt and Blackmon, but in looking at both of them play, I saw more Blackmon's game than Greenwalts. But these two will have some great duels in the next three years.

Kendra Wecker...Once again, for all the East Coast peoples:
Kendra Wecker is the best freshman in America!!!!

I agree with Bevo on this one. Eisha Bohman. Maybe that's because I'm caught in a puple haze and just haven't heard enough about this player, but she is always a killer to us. She just gets it done. I was tempted to mention Kristin Rethman but I think her secrets out a little bit. We are really going to miss her.

#15 Most Quotable Coach comment; Conradt "I guess if she can't eat, she can't play". Classic, I forgot that.

#18 Most Improved Player: Nicole Ohlde. That is a very insightful pick and much more worthy than most folks would know. I avoided making it myself because it is not at all obvious and is therefore somewhat hard to explain. On the surface her numbers are much the same as last year (except for blocks) but her whole game is so much more efective on both ends of the floor. She is still learning how to be effective as a post and even during the season you can see new moves being perfected. She also has improved on defense and is more relaxed and confident as a player. Its fun to watch her develop. If I would have picked her it would have been easily dismissed as a homer pick. I'm glad that you picked up on her efforts. Thanks.

BTW, I have decided that it may be appropriate for us to have that "Dorothy" No Place Like Home Trophy here in Kansas. And you all did put it down in black and white.

Ya know, I initially had typed in Ohlde as most improved. I changed my mind because being FOY last season, of course she was expected to put up the numbers she did. And, I thought maybe the improvement I saw was more or at least partially attributable to having more of a supporting cast in the freshman class that came in.
I admit, my opinion has changed tremendously this season. The only time I recall seeing her play last season was a televised game in the Big 12 tourney and it was ho-hum, boring. Based on that, I couldn't see how she was FOY over Stephens or Perkins. Now I'll likely be touting her for POY next year!!

I really did have to think on that question and I based it, not on numbers, but on their level of play through my eyes.

I recall last year that Ohlde had the numbers, she also seemed to experience the physical wiles of the Big 12 and reacted, IMO, the way most freshmen react. Similar to Cisti Greenwalt in the OU game. Her strength in a physical division is stronger and she made some absolutely incredible shots, in the games I saw. So, I think, as a post, she may be a close rival to Welle, even at this point. But Welle's experience buys her the interior player this year.
