Rita looks like another big ole storm. I hope all of you along the gulf keep safe.

Your Katrina images were very dramatic. Thanks for posting them.

My brother and Mom evacuated the big easy again. My Mom was griping about it, again. It's like she thinks my bro likes to do this when he has all the work to do!

I'm going on a cruise to Bermuda on Sunday. I hope to heck that our flight to Baltimore on Sunday isn't delayed by the storms and I hope our cruise to Bermuda isn't interrupted by a tropical storm or hurricane in the Atlantic. I don't think the latter is likely but I worry about getting out of OKC to Baltimore because we only have 4 hours after we arrive there to make it to the port.

And, of course, I hope the big easy doesn't suffer too much again. Since my brother's house didn't flood last time, I'm sure it won't this time. They are leaving because of potential loss of electricity and water. Poor Greg, I'm sure my Mom's been whining all the way to Alabama...

Supposedly, cruise ships just navigate away from storms and even change their destinations, if need be. Have a good time on your cruise!

Yes, cruise ships do change ports to avoid storms. Which is one reason I recommend them as opposed to an air/hotel package to an island during hurricane season. You get caught on an island when a storm rumbles in, and you are stuck.

If they go somewhere else it wouldn't bother me, but I have heard Bermuda is a fabulous island to visit. (and it is not as HOT as Oklahoma right now!) I just want to be sure and make the ship on Sunday!

Talked to my brother tonight. (Mom was griping in the background) More flooding in NO today, but I don't think it affects their neighborhood at all. It's more of a factor whether they have electricity and water pressure.
