Congratulations OU, an ugly one, but got it done. Another painful performance by Tech on offense. I personally thought this was a winable game if we could have made some playes when we were down 8 late in the game, but it wasn't to be, too many mistakes. The bright spots were Natalie and Cisti, not much after that.

I swear there was ghost or something goaltending every shot Tech put up http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif . I thought Cisti played well, but we need Jia EVERY game. She'll get through it though. I wasn't terribly impressed with Tanisha Ellison tonight. She was to tight tonight and it showed after every missed layup. Good win for OU, though, again if it were in Lubbock, it would have been closer. Next up: revenge on the tigers. Go Lady Raiders!!!

Watch out NCAA tournament...here come several BigXII teams!

Any early predictions for the Final Four?

Congrats OU. The Lady Raiders looked tight again tonight, but not to the same extent as a couple of weeks ago. For a road game, that may be progress. Wish they could have scored more of the "easy" baskets. Oklahoma gambles quite a bit on defense allowing some apparently wide open opportunities. Unfortunately, they also recover quickly which can cause shooters to rush their shots a little. Rushed shots usually mean missed shots. Same thing happened in Lubbock. Just have to credit the recognition by OU's players and overall team defense.

I would nominate OU if they could cut down on their turnovers. I saw that they average 18 a game which is way too many to be a contender. They'll do great though in the tourney and I would still be money on them on getting to the F4.

OU's to's have been discussed before...yes, they do get a lot (and tonight it seemed like to many of them were unforced!). Anyhow, a lot of that is their style of play--run 'n gun, get up and down the floor a lot, and you're going to turn the ball over more. It would be nice if they cut them down though!

Congrats to the Champs! OU is one TOUGH team. Like I said in my Scoopies nominations, OU has the best team defense in the Big 12.

Anybody at the game see what happened to Casey Jackson? Was it a left-right combination or just a goog uppercut punch? http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif They said on TV she was getting "stitched up". I couldn't tell from the camera shot and I never heard them mention her again. Hope she's OK.

Don't know if you guys could tell on TV, but it was another rough and tumble one inside and out tonight. I thought Caufield and White were going to come to blows on several ocassions. Gained a bit of respect for Candi tonight. She's tough.

If TTU could have hit some of those shots, it would have been a game. They were an ice cold 3-22 from long range.

Touching ceremony after the game. It almost seemed like everyone was in shock that the regular season had already ended and the career of 6 players was rapidly ending. But, I think that also has something to do with how focused this Sooner group is on getting to San Antonio.

It was senior night, not to say that's an excuse for the turnovers because I think it's an area they have improved upon. Sure was a sloppy ballgame at times.

Who k-powed Caton?.......I think that's the first time I've ever seen Caton with the busted lip and not the other way around....

Dblt.....I'll have to watch the tape and see what happened, I didn't see it during the game, but I noticed her on the bench with a ?cut around her eyebrow?........

They rushed through senior night, IMO, Phylesha, by herself was twice as long........ http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif And of course, when Stacey started crying, so did I.....there were some I would have liked to have heard more from and some I would have liked to have heard less from. What the heck, they are only seniors once......Caton Hill was balling her eyes out, can't even imagine what she must be feeling.........."they're all leaving, they're all leaving". Even Phylesha Whaley was there to receive her 2000 point ball.....
So, I guess Caton Hill gets her 1000 point ball NEXT year????? http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
I love watching Natalie Ritchie play, I thought Cisti showed some of her freshmenitis in the physical play and handling the ball...
she will certainly be a good one in her years at Texas Tech.

best quote of the night..........

Dales, whose family made the trip from Ontario, Canada, for the game, cried during her post-game remarks to the crowd as she thanked her coaches and teammates.

"This is a great night, but come with us to the Final Four," she said.

Congratulations OU on a great regular season. To go through the Big XII gauntlet with only 2 losses! My hat is off to the Sooners. Now comes the "second season". Best of luck (except of course if you meet up with the 'Horns again!)

At various times tonight I thought both teams played exceptionally well, but with the specter of Senior Night looming over the whole affair, you wouldn't expect a classic.

I wish that Tech would have shot better tonight, in order to put more pressure on OU to win, but some days...

Watching the teams tonight made me realize how much the Big 12 has improved during the season this year. It seems that there are just so many teams playing quality basketball in the conference. Regardless of how many host teams we have for the first round, people are going to be shocked at the game we throw at them this year in the NCAA's.

In OU's case, this is a team that I thought was really struggling at the end of the year last year, in spite of their 15-1 conference record. After the loss of Jen Cunningham it seemed the chemistry was a bit broken, and the performances seemed to oh-so-gradually slip as the rest of the season went by.

By the time OU got to Pullman, they were a spent team both physically and emotionally, and it showed in a disappointing loss to Washington at 3am or some such ridiculous time as that.

I see no such tendency this year. The team looks loose and ready to compete in the postseason, and I think the statement they were hoping to make last year will become a reality this postseason.

In fact, I expect many Big 12 teams to make serious statements this year. We are now officially "bad".

It's almost time to kick some serious butt!

I watched the game as well and TT could not get anything going on offense. They appeared stagnant and not onspired to play. Not to offend you, but the game was in Lubbock earlier, and the score was not any better. Good luck against Missouri!!!!!!!

By the way, both OU women and men went undefeated at home this season.
Anyone know of any other school (nationally) who can claim this?

Way to go Sooners! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Congratulations to OU for the Big 12 Championship. That is an amazing senior class. Coale has done a nice job.
Casey hit head to head with an OU player. It popped a line open on her eyebrow. It wasn't intentional, just part of the game, as far as I could tell. She is going to have it stitched up by a specialist this morning. It looks like it needed 4 or 5 stitches. Tech missed her hustle in the second half.

OU looked to have a really good crowd there. What was the final count?

Hail to the victors! OU was a determined team last night. As in "#1 seed on their minds" determined.

not a good crowd, especially for senior night.......6,260 fans and everyone was so quiet, IMO; especially in the 1st half.
