Lew Perkins is a big supporter of women's basketball, so I am sure that helped Bonnie's decision to come to KU. She did not enter a good situation to put it mildly, but I am glad she is willing to put in the effort to draw the fans. I'm interested to see what Bonnie can do with a full roster.

You damn right Bonnie is not messing around. First of all NOWHERE in the Big 12 has Allen Fieldhouse to recruit to. Then factor in that the school is great. And that Lew will let Bonnie do whatever is needed to get to the top(hmmm Geno and Lew did alright at UConn.....;) ) and that equals success. The fans probably weren't there when Marian was because if you were a member of the WBB fan club(now the Hardwood club) it was all about Coach Washington. Didn't really get me excited about WBB. However Bonnie can talk the talk and last year she proved she can walk the walk(no way in HELL that team should have did what it did! 12-16 doesn't seem like a great record but with the cupboard bare it was!) This year could be interesting to say the least!!!!

FYI, the team is going to have a public picnic this Sat (the 27th) at Centennial Park (9th and Iowa). New players will be introduced and coaches will comment at 12:30. Might be a good chance for locals to stop by and meet the new players etc..I'm thinking of going if I'm in town.
