View Full Version : Article on ISU senior
http://www.dmregister.com/sports/stories/c6902854/17460041.htmlHere</a> is an article on Ashley Homeyer, an ISU senior who has been close to the end of the bench all four years. It talks about the struggle to accept a bench role, and how she decided to stick with it despite getting very little playing time.

Interesting that the Norman Transcript chose to run an article on Shannon Selmon today - prior to senior night in OU's last home game today. I think its a nice gesture to put her front and center when she hasn't had much of a chance to grab the limelight the past 4 years.
But, at the same time, I'm a little surprised that much more wasn't said. This is the end of an era at OU. The is the first giant wave of talent to "crest" if you will to keep the analogy going. These will always be the years that are remembered at the end of Coale's coaching career. Phylesha Whaley and Stacey Dales will always be remembered for putting Oklahoma on the map. Maybe Justin Harper is waiting till the end of the season before penning such an article.

The question of the day:
Does Selmon start tonite?.....I say she does.

There's a good article in the Oklahoman about Dales and Caufield.
If it's not there already, I'll post it on the front page tonight from home. Oh yeah--can't make it to OK tonight for the game. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif
Had planned on this one all season-but dad can't make it to meet me, and it's a really bad time to be leaving work early, plus the thought of driving 3 hours to watch a game alone, then drive back 3 hours isn't appealing. I'm not happy about this...

Transcript article said she will. I guess in place of Hill.
Hey, couldn't we pull a UCONN and suit up Cunningham and have her stand underneath our goal for an uncontested layup? Sorry - couldn't resist the jab at the Huskies.

I agree.....put Cunningham in a uniform and let her walk out on the court.... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Certainly better not run, she would tear the darn thing again.

Put Cunningham in her uniform and send all six out for the jump - nothing like getting the game going with a Technical!
Kidding aside, I think it would be great if Jen would come out in uniform! - Just no running down the red carpet!

Finally read the Norman Transcript article on Selmon (had to go through the main z-wire site; I always have problems with them).
Anyhow, you've gotta love the girl's attitude. I'm sure it would be hard to go from All-State to role player like she has, but she seems to have taken it all in stride.
Ya know, all 3 of the Selmon girls seem like really well-rounded, down to earth kids. Parents must be proud! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
