I thought your post was some sort of joke until I followed the link. I'm not sure I've ever heard of a player making a verbal commitment prior to their freshman year of high school. I'd say it might be ill-advised, but there's nothing binding about a verbal commitment, so she isn't locked into a decision she might later regret.

I certainly hope she ends up at ISU. If Fennelly has offered her a scholarship this early, she must be something special.

For those who don't know Central Iowa geography, Huxley is just south of Ames, only a few minutes from city limits. That makes it really easy for BF to scout her. :)

I haven't heard of her yet, but I have heard that there is a junior (going to be junior this year) the BF has been looking at. My cousin was playing on the Iowa Select 17 and under group, where a few big names were playing and I think that any coach should be looking at these girls:
Shellie Mosman - Iowa State recruit
Kala Kuhlman(played half the year then went to play softball for hs)- Nebraska
L. Swanson and the other girl from Dension -UNI (Iowa)
just to name a few. All of these girls are awesome and Fenn has been scouting them.

I saw Zimmerman play at the ISU Elite Camp this spring and she is very advanced (especially for her age and experience). She went head to head with Rachel Pierson for two games and didn't back down a bit and more than held her own. She has the chance to be a SPECIAL type of player.
